Men’s Track Competes at the Eagle Invite

4/14/12 – The Crimson Wave track and field team competed at the Eagle Invitational at Benedictine University today.

Dan Medina led the way with a 14th place finish in the 110m hurdles running a 17.59.  Medina also finished 18th in the 400m hurdles.  Tom Moore placed 43rd in the javelin throwing 31.22.  Tom Manyek placed 44th in the 400m and Phil Strader placed 65th in the 1500m.

The Crimson Wave will be back in action in action at the CCAC championships. 

Men’s Track Competes at Troll Relays

4/4/12 – The Crimson Wave men’s track and field team competed at the Troll Relays in Palos Heights, IL host by fellow CCAC member Trinity Christian College.   

Tom Manyek finished 13th in the 400 meter dash while teammate Dan Medina finished 5th in the 100 meter hurdles.  Tom Moore 10th in the javelin throw.  The Crimson Wave 4x200m relay team took 2nd overall in a time of 1:35.6.  The 4x200 relay team is made up of Medina, Moore, Donte Nelson and Tyran Claypool.  The 4x400 relay team finished in 7th place.

The Crimson Wave will be back in action on April 14th at the Eagle Invite.

Men Take to the Track at GVSU

2/17/12 – The Crimson Wave track and field team took the track today at the GVSU Invite hosted by Grand Valley State University in Grand Rapids, MI.

Tom Moore competed in the 60m and 200m dashes.  Moore finished 24th in the 60m finishing in 7.88 seconds.  Moore then finished 34th in the 200m dash, clocking a time of 25.93 seconds.  Teammate Phil Strader competed in the mile run placing 51st in a time of 4:57.46.

The Crimson Wave will be back in action on Saturday March 3rd at the North Central Invite. 

Track Competes Well in Opener

1/28/12 - The Crimson Wave track and field team competed this weekend at the Trinve Invitational hosted by Trine University.  This is the first meet of the season for the team as they look to measure themselves against the competition to set the tone for the remainder of the season.  The invite has taken on a new look expanding the field with a diverse group of competition.

Tom Moore finished 8th overall in the 200m finishing in 25.12.  The mile run gave an 8th place finish to Phil Strader who ran a 5:21.59 for his first race of the year.    In the 60m hurdle Dan Medina grabbed a 5th place finish running 10.11.

The Crimson Wave will compete at the GVSU Tune Up at Grand Valley State University on February 17th.

Men’s Track Ends Season at Penultimate

5/14/11 – The Crimson Wave men’s track and field season came to end this weekend at the Penultimate Invitational at the University of Chicago.

Brian Bowman finished 9th overall and in the 1500m run followed by teammates Phil Strader in 10th and Paul Goodman in 14th.  Goodman also ran the 3000m run finishing 5th. 

Track Competes at Billy Hayes

5/6/11 – The Crimson Wave men’s track and Field team competed in the Billy Hayes Invitational this weekend at Indiana University in Bloomington, IN.

Paul Goodman broke the school record in the 3000m Steeplechase running 10:58.27 while teammate Coty Anderson set a new record in the discus 34 meters.  Brian Bowman also set a record in the 3000m run with a time of 9:25.28.

The Crimson Wave had nine team members compete this weekend.  The Crimson Wave will be back in action on Saturday May 14th at the Penultimate Invitational at the University of Chicago. 

Track Competes at CCAC Championships

4/16/11 – The Crimson Wave men’s track and field team competed at the CCAC Track and Field Championships this weekend at the University of St. Francis.  The Crimson Wave finished 6th overall as a team.

Tom Moore finished 6th overall in the 100 m dash running 11.68.  Moore also finished 4th overall in the 200m dash in 23.82s.    Daniel Medina finished 3rd in the 110 m High Hurdles while teammate Brandon Gilbert finished 17th in the 200m dash.  Ricardo Olmedo grabbed an 18th place finish in the 800m run with Brian Bowman finishing 18th in the 1500m run.  Paul Goodman took a 17th place finish in the 5000m with throwers Coty Anderson placing 9th in the Shot Put and Jorge Barba 18th.
 
The Crimson Wave men will be back in action on Saturday April 23rd at the Huskie Open. 

Callaway Sets School  Records

4/2/11 – Torrance Callaway set school records in the shot put and discus as the Crimson Wave men’s track and field team competed in the Puma Invitational at St. Joseph’s College today.

Callaway finished 16th in the shot put throwing 11.17m setting a new record.  In the discus Callaway set his second record of the day finishing 19th overall throwing 27.25m. 

Brandon Gilbert ran the 100m and 200m dashes finishing 19th and 14th overall.  Jorge Barba also threw the shot put placing 21st throwing 8.25m.
The Crimson Wave track team will be back in action on Saturday April 9th at the Chicagolands at the University of Chicago. 

Bowman Breaks School Record at Anderson

2/26/11 – Brian Bowman broke the 1000m run school record today at Anderson University during the Fred Wilt Memorial Indoor Invitational.  Bowman finished 4th overall running 2:41.74 good enough for a school record.

Teammate Brandon Gilbert had a season best in the 200m dash finishing in 25.21 placing 18th overall.  Gilbert also ran the 55m dash with a time of 7.17 and 25th place.  Jorge Barba threw the shot put for the Crimson Wave taking 30th with best throw of 8.67m.

The Crimson Wave track and field program will be back in action for the start of the outdoor season in late March. 

Track Competes at Cardinal Open

2/19/11 – The Crimson Wave track team competed at the Cardinal Open this weekend at Depauw University in Greencastle, IN.

The 4x400m Relay team finished 9th overall.  Brandon Gilbert finished 34th in the 55m dash and 39th in the 200m dash.  Tom Moore finished 27th and 30th in the same two events and teammate Brian Bowman finished 15th in the 800m.  Phil Strader finished 16th in the 800 along with a 28th place finish in the 400m.  Bowman also ran the 400m placing 19th overall.  Ricardo Olmedo was 36th in the 400m to round out the men.

The Crimson Wave track team will next compete at the Fred Wilt Invitational on Saturday February 26th at Anderson University. 

Track Competes at GaReat Invite

1/30/11 – The Crimson Wave men’s track and field team competed at the GaReat Collegiate Invitational this weekend in Geneva, OH.

Brandon Gilbert ran a season best in the 200m dash finishing 73rd overall finishing in 24.52.  Gilbert also ran the 60m dash finishing 61st (7.69).  Phil Strader also ran a season best in the 800m run finishing 30th overall in 2:03.74.  Strader also finished 42nd in the mile (4:52.32).  Tom Moore finished 71st in the 200m (24.25) while Dan Medina placed 39th in the 60m Hurdles (9.49).   Brian Bowman placed 52nd in the 5000m run (17:31.45) with Jorge Barba throwing 27' 5.25" taking 58th.

The Crimson Wave track and field team will be back in action on Saturday February 5th at the Indiana Wesleyan University Invitational.

Track Competes at Trine

1/21/11 - The Crimson Wave men’s track and field team competed at the Trine Invitational this weekend on the campus of Trine University in Angola, IN.

Daniel Medina led the way finishing 2nd overall in the 60m High Hurdles running a time of 8.96.  Tom Moore finished 9th, 24.41, in the 200m with teammate Brandon Gilbert right behind in 13th at 25.04.  Gilbert also finished 12th in the 60 m dash finishing in 7.66.  Jorge Barba threw the shot put for the men placing 11th with a throw of 27’2.

The Crimson Wave will compete at the GaReat Meet in Geneva, OH on Jan 28-29.  The meet is hosted by Lake Erie College.

Men’s Track Competes at GVSU

12/18/10 – The Crimson Wave men’s track and field team competed at the Grand Valley State Holiday open this weekend in Grand Rapids, MI.  This is the first event of the indoor track season for the Crimson Wave men.

Brian Bowman finished 7th in the 800m run in 2:10.29, Phil Strader finished 7th in mile as well running a 4:39.11.  Tyler Stiscak was 10th in the 800m run running 2:20.72 while Tom Moore was 27th in the 200m finishing in 23.91.  Brandon Gilbert finished 41st in the 200m in a time of 25.21.  Jorge Barba was 14th in the shot put throwing 8.06m.

The Crimson Wave men will next compete at the Grand Valley State Early Bird open on Friday January 7th.

Gutierrez Finishes 29th at Nationals

5/29/10 - Crimson Wave men’s track and field runner RichardRichard Gutierrez Gutierrez ended his season today in the marathon at the NAIA Outdoor Track and Field Championships at the Outdoor Sports Complex in Marion, IN.

Gutierrez ran 2:52.40 in the marathon finishing the event 29th overall. 

This ends a very successful season for the Crimson Wave runner.  Gutierrez qualified for the national meet on March 27th at the Sam Costa Half-Marathon in Carmel, IN.  Gutierrez met the “B” qualifying time running 1:15.54 and finishing fourth.

 

Hinton Ends Season with Personal Best

5/27/10 – Crimson Wave men’s track and field runner Randy Hinton ended his season tonight in a personal best and schoolRandy Hinton record at the NAIA Outdoor Track and Field Championships at the Outdoor Sports Complex in Marion, IN.

Hinton ran a 21.74 in the 200m tonight finishing the event 28th. 

This ends a very successful season for the Crimson Wave senior.  Hinton also qualified for the NAIA Indoor Track and Field Championships and was named CCAC Outdoor Track and Field Most Valuable Runner after winning the 200m and 400m events at the first CCAC conference track and field meet. 

Gutierrez and Hinton to Compete at NAIA Nationals

5/25/10 – Crimson Wave men’s track and field runners Richard Gutierrez and Randy Hinton will compete at the NAIA Outdoor National Track and Field Meet this week May 27-29 at the Outdoor Sports Complex in Marion, IN.  The meet will be hosted by Indiana Wesleyan University. 

Gutierrez qualified for the national meet on March 27th at the Sam Costa Half-Marathon in Carmel, IN.  Gutierrez met the “B” qualifying time running 1:15.54 and finishing fourth. 

Hinton qualified for the national meet after running the “B” qualifying time of 21.96 in the 200m run at the Billy Hays Invite in Bloomington, IN.  Hinton improved on his national qualifying time to 21.89 after finishing 5th overall at the Dr. Keeler Invitational in Naperville, IL.   

“I am very proud to see two well respected student-athletes in Randy and Richard represent CCSJ at the NAIA Outdoor National Championship.  Their efforts have been rewarded during the regular season and now each person can stride to reach a new goal at the national championships.” said Athletic Director Peter Haring

The NAIA Outdoor Track & Field National Championships will start at 10:00 am Thursday May 27th.   Hinton will run the 200m trials at 6:10 pm EST that day.  The 200m semi-finals are scheduled for Saturday May 29th at 3:30 pm EST with the finals at 5:00 pm EST.   Gutierrez will run the marathon on Saturday morning at 6:00 am EST. 

Hinton Qualifies at Dr. Keeler Invitational

5/16/10 – The Crimson Wave men’s track and field team competed at the Dr. Keeler Invitational this weekend.

Senior Randy Hinton added another qualifying time to his already impressive season.  This time in the 400m dash, running a 48.77 and finishing 8th overall.  Hinton’s time qualified him for the NAIA Outdoor Track and Field Championships.  Hinton also improved his 200m qualifying time to 21.89 finishing 5th overall. Both times have set new school records in the events.

Brandon Gilbert ran the 100m and 200m finsihing in 11.9 and 24.22 while Ptah El-Aton ran the 200m and 400m finishing in 23.96 and 53.15 s. Tom Moore also ran the 100m and 200m events finishing in 11.77 and 23.09. Robbie Loop finished the 1500m run in 4:34.47 for his only event of the competition.

The NAIA Outdoor Track and Field Championships will be held May 27-29 at the Outdoor Sports Complex in Marion, IN hosted by Indiana Wesleyan University. 

Hinton Qualifies for Nationals

5/9/10 – Crimson Wave men’s track and field runner Randy Hinton has qualified for the NAIA Outdoor Track and Field Championships.  Hinton ran the “B” qualifying time of 21.96 in the 200m run at the Billy Hays Invite in Bloomington, IN.

The NAIA Outdoor Track and Field Championships will be held May 27-29 at the Outdoor Sports Complex in Marion, IN hosted by Indiana Wesleyan University. 

Hinton and Medina Conference Champions

4/17/10 – Crimson Wave men’s track and field runners Randy Hinton and Daniel Medina became conference champions after winning events in the CCAC Conference Track and Field meet today held at Olivet Nazarene University in Bourbonnais, IL.  The Crimson Wave finished 4th overall as a team. 

Randy Hinton started his day winning the 400m dash in a time of 49.99s.  Minutes later Hinton took third in the 100m dash running an 11.6s.   Within the hour of finishing the 100m event Hinton took the win in the 200m dash with a time of 22.73s
Daniel Medina won the 400m hurdles in a time of 59.46. 

  Medina also placed 3rd in the 110m high hurdles running a 17.24s.  Tom Moore finished 2nd overall in the 100m dash.  Moore finished the race in 11.54s.

The Crimson Wave 4x100m relay team and the 4x400m relay team each finished 4th overall. 

Men Compete at Chicagolands

4/10/10 – The Crimson Wave men’s track and field team competed at the Chicagolands Invitational this weekend at the University of Chicago.

Randy Hinton took a 3rd place finish in the 100m dash running a time of 11.11s.  Hinton also took 5th in the 200m dash running a 22.30.  Jordon Harris finished 14th in the decathlon and Daniel Medina took 14th in the 400m hurdles running 1:00.39.  The Crimson Wave 4X100m relay team of Brandon Gilbert, Randy Hinton, Tom Moore, and Dominique Smith finished 9th overall finishing in 45.31. 

The Crimson Wave will be back in action on Saturday April 17th at the CCAC Conference Meet in Bourbonnais, IL .

Men’s Track and Field Compete at Poehlein

4/3/10 – The Crimson Wave men’s track and field team competed at the Poehlein Invitational this weekend hosted by Purdue University in West Lafayette, IN.

The Crimson Wave men were led by an 8th place finish by the 4x100m relay team of Brandon Gilbert, Randy Hinton, Tom Moor, and Dominique Smith.  The team ran a 45.12 for their first outdoor meet of the season.  Randy Hinton finished 13th overall in the 100m dash in a time of 11.24.   Robbie Loop also finished 13th in the 300m Steeplechase.  Loop sustained an injury during the race but managed to finish in a time of 11:24.33.

The Crimson Wave men will take this week to prepare for the Chicagolands this weekend April 9-10. 

Hinton Sets School Records at Nationals

3/5/10 – Crimson Wave men’s track and field runner Randy Hinton set two school records today in the 200m and 400m runs at the NAIA National Track and Field Championships in Johnson City, TN.

In the 400m run Hinton ran a time of 49.67s, finishing 15th overall in the preliminaries.  In the 200m run Hinton set the new mark at 21.99s again landing him 15th overall in the preliminaries.  

“Randy definitely came out today and left it all out there.  He came out prepared and focused and it showed.   He ran a great race in the 200m today.  We are really excited to concentrate on the 200m in the outdoor season. “ said Head Coach Don Reed

This marks the end of the indoor track and field season for the Crimson Wave men.  The men will open the outdoor season April 3-4 at the Polheim Invitational in West Lafayette, IN.

Men’s Track National Championships

3/4/10 – Crimson Wave men’s track and field runner Randy Hinton is currently in Johnson City, TN at the NAIA National Track and Field Championships.

Hinton will run the semi-finals of the 200m and 400m runs on Friday March 5th.   The 400m run will take place at 3:10 pm and the 200m run taking place at 6:25 pm.

Hinton qualified for the NAIA National Championships at the Taylor University Invite on the February 6th in the 400m and 200m runs. In the 400m run Hinton ran a 50.24 meeting the national b standard for qualifying. A few races later Hinton won the 200m run in a time of 22.55 seconds to give him the national b standard.

Hinton Wins 200m at Fred Wilt

2/27/10 – The Crimson Wave men’s track and field team competed at the Fred Wilt Invitational this weekend at Anderson University in Anderson, IN.

Randy Hinton won the 200m run in a time of 22.66.  Richard Gutierrez set a school record in the 5000m run with a time of 16:01.5.  Gutierrez finished 6th in the race.  Jordon Harris finished 5th in the 1000m run.  Robbie Loop finished in 6th place in the 3000m Steeplechase.

Hinton will run in the NAIA National Indoor Track and Field Championships this weekend in Johnson City, TN.  

4x200m Relay Wins at Trine

2/19/10 – The Crimson Wave men’s track and field team competed at the Trine Invitational today at Trine University in Angola, IN.

The 4x200m relay team of Nate Haverstock, Randy Hinton, Tom Moore, and Joe Efantis finished first overall with a time of 1:33.04.  The winning time also sets a school record in the event.    The 4x400m relay team of Haverstock, Hinton, Moore, and Efantis finished second overall with a time of 3:28.97.

The Crimson Wave track team will run their final indoor event of the season at the Fred Wilt Invitational in Anderson, IN on February 27th. 

Men Compete at Hoosier Hills and Wildcat Invites
        

2/13/10 – The Crimson Wave men’s track and field team competed at the Hoosier Hills Invitational on Friday night in Bloomington, IN and Saturday at the Wildcat Invitational on the campus of Indiana Wesleyan University. 

Richard Gutierrez set a school record at the Hoosier Hills meet in the 3000m run with a time of 9:09.28.  The   4x400m relay team of Joe Efantis, Tom Moore, Randy Hinton, Nate Haverstock also set a school record finishing in 3:25.96.

The Crimson Wave men will have their last chance to qualify for the NAIA National meet this Friday February 19 and Saturday February 20 when they travel to the Trine Invitational in Angola, IN and the Silverstein Invite in Ann Arbor, MI. 

Hinton Qualifies for Nationals
 

2/6/10 – Crimson Wave men’s track and field runner Randy Hinton qualified for the NAIA Indoor Track & Field National Randy HintonChampionships held at the Mini Dome in Johnson City, TN on March 4-6, 2010.

Hinton Qualified today at the Taylor University Invite in the 400m and 200m runs. In the 400m run Hinton ran a 50.24 meeting the national b standard for qualifying. A few races later Hinton won the 200m run in a time of 22.55 seconds to give him the national b standard and trip to Johnson City.
 
Hinton is the second runner in Crimson Wave history to qualify for the NAIA Track & Field National Championships.
Fred Olaosebikan won the 800m run in 2:00.68 for a personal best in the event. 

Jordan Harris broke his own school record in the shot put, throwing 9.96m.  Richard Gutierrez added his name to the record books in the 3000m run with a time of 9:09.62.  Daniel Medina ran a 8.68s in the 55m high hurdles for a school record and the 4X200m relay team ran a 1:38.44 for a record.  The relay team consisted of Nate Haverstock, Fred Olaosebikan, Tyler Stiscak and Ptah El-Aton.

The men will run their next meet at the Hoosier Hills Invite in Bloomington, IN on February 12, 2010.

Men’s Track Sets Five More Records

1/30/10 – The Crimson Wave men’s track and field team set five school records this weekend, competing at the Findlay Classic hosted by the University of Findlay.

Jordon Harris set records in the Pentathlon scoring 2005 points and in the Shot Put with 9.53m.   Richard Gutierrez set a new mark in the 5000m run finishing in 16:11.19 while Robbie Loop added his name to the record books in the 1000m run finishing in 2:48.37.  The 4X800m relay team of Fred Olaosebikan, Tyler Stiscak,  Joe Efantis, and Loop rounds out the records with a time of 8:24.33.

The men will compete at the Taylor University Invite this Saturday February 6th in Upland, IN.

1/15/09 – The Crimson Wave men’s track and field team traveled to the Grand Valley State University Invitation this weekend.

Randy Hinton finished third overall in the 200m and 400m runs.  Hinton ran a 22.61 in the 200m and 50.50 in the 400m run.  Both of Hinton’s finishes have set new school records in the events.   Robbie Loop set a school record in the one mile run at 4:35.63 finishing 25th overall.   Jordon Harris’s throw of 8.86m in the shot put will put his name in the school record books along with a new record in the 4X400m relay.  The relay team of Joe Efantis, Nate Haverstock, Tom Moore, Randy Hinton finished in a time of 3:26.40, taking 3rd overall in the event.

The men will travel to the Findlay Classic on January 29th and 30th for their next event. 

Singleton Signs with the Crimson Wave

8/4/09 - Calumet College of St. Joseph track and field coach DonKadeem Singleton Reed has announced the signing of, Kadeem Singleton, from T.F. North High School to a national letter of intent to continue his academic and athletic careers with the Crimson Wave.

The hard working runner from T.F. North High school will add depth to the young Crimson Wave track and field team.  Singleton will fill in the gaps for the team this upcoming season.  His leadership qualities will help the Crimson Wave find success this season.
 
Singleton will study Elementary Education while attending Calumet College of St. Joseph.

“Kadeem is a very versatile athlete that will be doing a lot of different things for Calumet College in the upcoming years.  His background in multiple sports in high school as well as his leadership skills will be a tremendous asset for our program. “Said Coach Don Reed on Kadeem Singleton

Haverstocks Signs with the Crimson Wave

7/17/09 - Calumet College of St. Joseph track and field coach DonNate Haverstock Reed has announced the signing of, Nate Haverstock, a state qualifier, from Crown Point High School to a national letter of intent to continue his academic and athletic careers with the Crimson Wave.

The explosive Crown Point High School standout is a 4x100 and 4x400 state qualifier along with earning All-DAC Honors after winning the 4x100 relay in the DAC conference championship.  Haverstock also holds school records in the 4x100 and 4x400 relays. 

“I liked the small school environment and it was close to home.”  Said Haverstock on his decision on Calumet College of St. Joseph, Haverstock goes on to say “I really think I can contribute to the team and bring a hard work ethic” 

"Nate is another quality 400m runner that has joined us, with versatility to run the shorter sprints as well.  Nate will be a prominent factor in our distance sprinting group and will be a big addition to all of our relays."  Said Coach Don Reed on Nate Haverstock

Haverstock will study Elementary Education next year at Calumet College of St. Joseph.

Matthews Signs with the Crimson Wave

7/6/09 - Calumet College of St. Joseph track and field coach Don Reed has announced the signing of, Iman Matthews, from DeIman Matthews LaSalle High School in Chicago, IL to a national letter of intent to continue his academic and athletic careers with the Crimson Wave.

The De LaSalle High School runner is a hard worker and intense competitor.  “I really feel that I can push others to compete against each other harder.  We have to push each other to become better.” Said Matthews when asked what he could bring to the Crimson Wave.

Matthews will study accounting next year at Calumet College of St. Joseph.

“Iman joins us to help solidify our long hurdle events as well as competing for our 4x400 relay.  A quality person and a quality athlete, Iman will bring a strong presence to our middle distance and distance sprinters on the team.”  Said Coach Don Reed on Iman Matthews


El-Aton Comes to the Crimson Wave

7/6/09 - Calumet College of St. Joseph track and field coach DonPtah El-Aton Reed has announced the signing of, Ptah El-Aton, from Simeon High School in Chicago, IL to a national letter of intent to continue his academic and athletic careers with the Crimson Wave.

The Simeon High School runner is a hard worker and explosive runner.  El-Aton will bring a lot of versatility to the Crimson Wave next Season.  El-Aton will use next season to refine his skills to become a solid collegiate runner.
 
Ptah will come to Calumet College of St. Joseph to study Criminal Justice. 
 
“Ptah is a relative newcomer to track and XC but comes with a desire to excel and a positive attitude.  While his skills may be raw, he has tremendous potential and should see immediate improvements this season.” Said Coach Don Reed on Ptah El-Aton

Stiscak Signs with the Crimson Wave

7/6/09 - Calumet College of St. Joseph track and field coach Don Reed has announced the signing of, Tyler Stiscak, from ValparaisoTyler Stiscak High School to a national letter of intent to continue his academic and athletic careers with the Crimson Wave.

The Valparaiso High School standout is a state qualifier in the 4x800 m relay.   Tyler will bring a lot of life experience and leadership to the young Crimson Wave.   Tyler will also have the option of running cross country, next season to help prepare him for the spring.

Tyler will come to Calumet College of St. Joseph to study Business Management. 
 
“Tyler is an energetic, dynamic runner that has really committed himself to his running recently.  He comes from a very solid running program and Valparaiso HS and knows what it takes to be successful at a very high level.  Tyler will be an immediate impact to our middle-distance group.” Said Coach Don Reed on Tyler Stiscak

Moore Chooses the Crimson Wave

7/5/09 - Calumet College of St. Joseph track and field coach Don Reed has announced the signing of, Thomas Moore, from Lowell Thomas MooreHigh School to a national letter of intent to continue his academic and athletic careers with the Crimson Wave.

The hard working runner from Lowell High School is a regional qualifier in the 200m.  “I think that I can bring hard work and leadership to the team next season.  I am looking forward to working with experienced runners next season.” said Moore.    

Moore will come to the Calumet College of St. Joseph to pursue a degree in Secondary Education.

Kabella Chooses the Crimson Wave

6/26/09 - Calumet College of St. Joseph track and field coach Don Reed has announced the signing of, Nick Kabella, a state qualifier from CrownNick Kabella Point High School to a national letter of intent to continue his academic and athletic careers with the Crimson Wave.
 
The explosive Crown Point runner is a 4x400 DAC Champion, sectional champion, state qualifier and school record.  Kabell is also a state qualifier in the 4x100 and placed seventh in the DAC championship meet in the 400m. 
 
“As an athlete, Nick is exactly what a college coach is looking for.  He is just coming into his own physically and is learning what is expected of him to excel at higher levels.  His experience at the Indiana HS state meet this season has just fueled the fire to achieve more.”  Coach Reed goes on to say,  “Nick will be an immediate impact on our distance sprinters in the upcoming year and should be a solid contributor both in the individual events as well as several relays.”
