Creative Writing Club      

Mission Statement

Our Creative Writing program features multi-genre workshops, numerous open-mike opportunities, publication and editing opportunities, and a wide variety of visiting writers, and the Creative Writing Club serves to augment the program. In the past three years we have fully funded travel for students in the club to the national AWP conferences in Washington, D.C., Chicago, and will do so again for the upcoming conference in Boston.

The creative writing club also supports an annual literary magazine (Against the Grain) and several open mike literary events throughout the year as well as our Writers@Work series of visiting writers.  The club also supports travel to Chicago Shakespeare theater and other local literary events. Two officers receive scholarship grants in return for their leadership efforts. English Department Homepage
