Student Government

All members of the student body of Calumet College of St. Joseph are members of the Student Union and are governed by its constitution. Its student-elected and/or appointed members are the Student Government. The Student Government, representing the Student Union, serves as a channel of communication and consultation between the student body, Board of Trustees, the faculty, and administration. Student representatives serve on appropriate college committees.

I am in my third year at CCSJ majoring in Business Mgt. I was born and raised in East Chicago but currently live in Chicago with my fiancée and three kids’ ages 14, 8 & 7. When I’m not in school I am coaching my kids year round. I am a Board Member (Community Liaison) and Head Football Coach for Northlake Patriots Jr. Mighty Mites, an assistant Baseball Coach at East Side Little League and an assistant Basketball Coach at the East Side Hoops League.

I not only coach sports, but I also play myself. I have been a below knee amputee since 1998 from an ATV accident. I have played wheelchair softball for the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago Cubs for the past 11 years, even winning a National Championship in 2005.

As you can see I am a very busy person but I like it that way. As Student Government President, I hope to get more students involved and hope to see many new clubs in the upcoming year. I am a very friendly person so if you see me in the hall, say hi. I hope you all a successful year!
