COMMUNICATION PROGRAM

PROGRAM OUTCOME OBJECTIVES

Upon completion of this program, it is expected that students will:

1. 1. Demonstrate an awareness of major theories of communication and the application of theory to problem solving.

2. Meet the requirements for entry-level careers in communication in a variety of environments, including mass media, public relations and organization/business environments.

3. Stimulate the student to be a life-long learner by encouraging personal growth and development in perception and self-expression through the study of historical and contemporary aspects of communication.

4. Prepare the student for a profession that requires theoretical and technical knowledge of communication by providing students with opportunities to apply communication skills in professional settings.

5. Demonstrate the capability to think critically and reflect on ethical issues in communication, and realize the immense responsibility in communicating both interpersonally and with the public.
