Communication Program Competencies
1. Students will understand the fundamental principles of communication.
2. Students will understand, evaluate, and apply major theories of
interpersonal, small group, public and mass communication.

Students will understand and evaluate the cultural, social and economic
role of the mass media in contemporary American
society.
4. Students will analyze and apply major theories
of public discourse
5. Students will apply their knowledge of cultural
differences to solve particular problems.
6. Students will evaluate
the political problems raised by free speech in a democratic society.
