The Bachelor of Science degree in Healthcare Management is a broad based, practitioner-oriented program. Through a series of integrated course modules, students are prepared to assume leadership roles in a variety of health and human care settings. Additionally, a rigorous general education core seeks to develop students who are critical and synthetic thinkers, effective communicators, and life-long learners.

The program is designed around the needs of the working, adult student. Of particular note are the following scheduling, instructional, and student service features.

  1. Classes meet one evening or Saturday morning for four hours. This allows a student to maintain family, career and community responsibilities while pursuing a degree.

  2. Course is delivered in a modular, lock-step model in order to significantly reduce the amount of time necessary to earn a degree.

  3. The curriculum track is time shortened. Many students will complete the entire program in less than two years.

  4. Students complete all course work at a convenient field based site.

  5. Most student services, including book delivery and registration, are conducted at the class site. This avoids standing in lines, or making multiple trips to the main campus.

  6. Credit for life and work experience and a program of alternative credit options are jointed with formal course work to make the program cost and time efficient.

  7. Students progress through the program in a learning cohort. The group setting provides numerous opportunities for collaborative learning and professional networking.
