B.S. in Psychology:

The following courses are required for a major in Psychology:

1. Psychology 100 and 210 are a prerequisite for all upper-level courses.
   
   
2. Psychology 217, 230, 260, 315, 335, 351, 495, 499, and nine upper-level Psychology credit hours.
   
   
3. CIS 115 is a prerequisite for all upper-level courses.

Suggested Psychology Elective Areas

1. The following elective courses are recommended for a major in Psychology interested in clinical studies: Psychology 315, 335, 355, or 351;
   
   
2. The following elective courses are recommended for a major in Psychology interested in Industrial-Organizational Psychology: Psychology 260, 315, 320; Business Management 220, 320;
   
   
3. The following elective courses are recommended for a major in Psychology interested in Life Span: Psychology 400, 410, 420, 425, or 427;
   
   
4. The following elective courses are recommended for a major in Psychology interested in Child Development and Education: Psychology 310, 315, 410, or 420; Business Management 220; Education 300, 342, 370, 400.

Minor in Psychology:

The requirements for a minor in Psychology are 9 hours in upper-level Psychology courses. In addition, the minor will include the following courses: PSY 210, 230, 260, and CIS 115.

Other Requirements:

All Psychology majors must fulfill the General Education requirements as listed in the General Education Program in this catalog as well as other requirements for the appropriate certificate or degree (see General Education requirements). Psychology majors must take BIO 101 to fulfill the General Education requirements.

Field Instruction:

Students will learn to use the knowledge of psychology in actual settings whether in the clinic, school or work place under the supervision of experienced staff.
