The School of Adult Learning is designed to help students with few or no college credits graduate in as little as
4 ½ years while attending on a part-time basis. This is compared to 8 or more years at most other colleges and universities. All classes at the School of Adult Learning are offered in an accelerated format on weekday evenings and weekends, as well as during traditional school hours Monday through Friday. After successfully completing all of their General Education courses, students have the option to transfer to one of our accelerated degree programs.

Historically, CCSJ has been a home for adult learners and currently more than 600 adults enroll in graduate and accelerated courses each semester, accounting for approximately 40 percent of the student body. These adult learners bring rich life experiences, talents and diversity to the classroom which adds value to a college education. Equally as important, adult learners are very comfortable at CCSJ and the faculty members understand the many responsibilities and obligations adults have.
