If
an instructor or other Calumet College of St. Joseph personnel find that a

Class Policy for Assignments: Students will be given
ample time to work on their assignments.
All assignments are to be turned in at the beginning of the class period
they are due. NO LATE ASSIGNMENTS WILL
BE ACCEPTED.
Class Policy on
Attendance: Students are expected to
attend all class sessions. If a student
must miss a class session, they are expected to contact the instructor prior to
the class session. If a student misses
more than one four-hour class session they will be administratively withdrawn
from that class.

Use
the final written cases from HCM 426 as a starting point for the final oral
presentation of the case.
1.
Limit presentation time to 15 minutes.
Allow up to another 5 minutes for questions and answers.
2.
At this level of presentation, the persuasive method is expected. You are trying to help the audience
understand your logic and accept your recommendations.
3.
Analyze the audience. Determine
who your audience will be. Do an
audience analysis.

Consider the type of appeal; ethical, emotional, logical

Use the understanding you have gained from the case. You are now the expert in this area!
6.
Organize your presentation.
Introduction – Strong beginning. Get their attention and gain rapport, but
most importantly introduce the central message.
Body – Bulk of information
needed. Link one idea to another
smoothly.
Conclusions – Brief summary. No new info.
Ask audience to take an action.
Tie conclusion back into the Intro.

Visual aids. Real objects,
models, flip charts, handouts, white board, slides, video, overheads, power
point. Use several effectively.
