Course Description

Organizational Behavior is an evolving field of study = used to examine and understand individual and group behaviors within the organizational environment. T= his course explores theories and topics in Organizational Behavior in relation = to the current business environment of the 21^st Century. Student will examine their own att= itudes, motivators, management style and beliefs with regard to human interaction a= nd performance in organizations through exercises, quizzes, written case studi= es, discussions and presentations.

Withdrawal from Classes Policy

Please see the Degree Completion Program’s Stude= nt Handbook for withdrawal policy. All withdrawals are completed through Degree Completion Academic Advisor’s office.

Class Attendance

It is a serious matter when a student misses even one session due to the accelerated format of the program. If the student misses more than one session, the student is required to withdraw from the module by contacting = the Academic Advisor and their instructor.

You must call the instructor when you will be unable to attend to make provisions to complete necessary make-up work.

Class Policy For Assignments

All assign= ments must be turned in on their assigned due date. Late assignments will not be accepted. Those unable to att= end class need to make provisions t= o get their assignment to class on the night it is due or within 3 business days following the due date.

In this Organizational Management course students will= ,

·         Apply the OB concepts and theories to case studies,

·         Examine and discuss concepts and theories for applicability in student’s own experience and lives,

·         Analyze personal experience through written assignments with clarity of expression and in correct grammatical form.

Weeks Three and Five, students turn in written case st= udies based upon text book materials, lectures and current events.

Organizational Behavior Presentations

During Week Two of the course, Students will choose one area of Organizational Behavior (OB) from Chapters 14 -18.&n= bsp;

Students will use the Internet Research Skills, developed in their Writing and Research course, to gather a minimum of three sources of information a= bout their topic. One source = may be the text book.

Week Four, students will use to research and prepare a discussion of a Case Study or Ethical Dilemma= that corresponds with the student’s presentation.

Week Five each student will give a 5 – 7 minute (not more or less) presentation about their findings on their area of OB. Students will also turn in a Reference Page, in APA style, with a list of their research and presentation findings.

At the Conclusion of all the individual presentations, each student will present his/her case study or ethical dilemma and lead a group discuss= ion.
