Course Description: A study of the accounting process to enable a manager to work effectively with accountants and financ= ial managers. The use of accounting da= ta, financial statements, budgets and MIS data are surveyed.<= /p>

Class Policy for Assignments and Exams:

Written assignments are due at the BEGINNING of each class<= span style=3D'color:black'>. Assignment= s must be typed. As assignments will be discussed during class, students must keep one copy of their submitted assignments for themselves. This will allow the st= udents to actively participate in the class discussion and make notations on their assignments.

Because of the continuous flow of work between = the students and the instructor and because students will do better work if they stay on schedule, late work is NOT accepted. If a student is absent from class, the assignment must be submitted via email to the instructor prior to 6:00 p.m.= on the day the assignment is due.

Quizzes are administered promptly at 6:00 p.m.<= span style=3D'mso-spacerun:yes'> Tardy students will not be provided additional time to complete their quizzes. The instructor will allow one week to make up a quiz missed for a pr= e-approved excused absence. It is the student= ’s responsibility to make arrangements with the instructor for an appropriate time.

               = B: 360 – 404 points earned

               = C: 315 – 359 points earned

               = D: 270 – 314 points earned

Class Policy on Attendance:

It is a serious matter when a student misses ev= en one session due to the accelerated format of the program. If the student misses more than one ses= sion, the student is required to withdraw from the module by contacting the Acade= mic Advisor and their instructor.

Class Policy on Electronic Devices: =

As a courtesy to all students and the instructo= r, electronic devices such as cell phones (including text messaging), beepers,= or pagers may not be used during class period. Please turn them off when entering the classroom.<= /p>

Class Policy on Participation:

Students are expected to contribute to the clas= s by engaging in active discussion on the material assigned. Class participation is vital to the sha= ring of ideas and understanding among the class members. Therefore, students must read all the assigned materials in preparation for the class discussion.

Please bring a calculator to each class session= . Cell phone calculators may not be utili= zed for exams.

Students who are absent from class will NOT<= /u> be allowed to make up missed participation points. Additionally, participation points will= be reduced for each occurrence that a student is late for class and/or leaves class early.
