What
is CCSJ’s tuition rate?
Tuition (and fees) for a full-time student is $11,650 for the 2007-2008
academic year. Part-time tuition (less than 12 credit hours per
term) is $365 per credit hour.
Are SAT or ACT scores required for admission?
ACT and SAT scores are not required for admission to CCSJ. However,
in order to qualify for CCSJ academic scholarships for first-year
students, these scores are needed. It is also required to have
submit the ACT or SAT results if you plan to participate in intercollegiate
athletics at CCSJ.
Is an application fee required?
An application fee is not required when applying to CCSJ.
How much is the tuition deposit?
CCSJ does not require an admission deposit to confirm enrollment.
However, students who apply and are admitted early in the enrollment
cycle for a given term are invited to register early.
What is the average class size at CCSJ?
The average class size is 16 students.

How close is the campus to Chicago and what is the neighborhood
like around the campus?
It is approximately 20 miles to downtown Chicago from our Whiting
campus. The Chicago Convention
and Tourism Bureau lists things
to do in Chicago, and the Whiting-Robertsdale
Chamber of Commerce gives a description of the North Hammond/Whiting area where the
main campus of CCSJ is located.
Does CCSJ offer an athletics program?
CCSJ offers seventeen men’s and women’s intercollegiate
sports. Interested students will need to contact the coach of the
sport in which they wish to participate. Student-athletes who have
signed an athletics letter of intent are eligible for athletic
grants. In order to participate in CCSJ
Athletics, all student-athletes
must be enrolled at the college for a minimum of 12 credit hours
per semester.
I was home-schooled. Does CCSJ accept home school transcripts?
In many cases, home school credit s and diplomas can be accepted.
An Admissions Counselor will review your transcript once your application
file is complete.
Is the CCSJ campus safe?
The CCSJ campus is monitored by security officers and cameras both
day and evening. Our security officers have the power to arrest
offenders that may threaten members of the College community.
Will I have to pay a fee for parking?
CCSJ does not charge for parking on campus.
What type of housing options does CCSJ offer?
CCSJ does not offer housing on campus. It is the responsibility
of the student to make living arrangements. There are housing options
available through the Northwest
Indiana Times and apartment websites
such as rent.com or apartments.com.
When is new student orientation?
New student orientation activities normally take place approximately
one week before the beginning of classes. You will be notified
by mail of your orientation date in early summer.
What options are there for financial aid?
There are academic and athletics scholarships available, as well
as need based aid. Visit our financial

How can I get involved at CCSJ?
Why not join one of our many student
organizations?. It’s
a great way to meet other students, learn a lot ,and have a good
time.
