GRADUATE ADMISSIONS

Calumet College of St. Joseph has four graduate programs: Master of Arts in Teaching, Public Safety Administration, Leadership in Teaching, MSQA: Quality Leadership Program.

Admission requirements for each are as follows:

Public Safety Administration:
The applicant must:
  • Have graduated from a regionally accredited post-secondary institution with a baccalaureate degree
  • Submit transcripts from all other colleges and universities attended
  • Present evidence of a 3.0 grade point average on a 4.0 scale for all undergraduate course work
  • Submit a one page letter of purpose stating why he/she wishes to enter a masters program
MSQA: Quality Leadership Program:
The applicant must:
  • Hold a bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution of higher learning;
  • Submit transcripts from all other colleges and universities attended
  • Have attained at least a 3.0 grade point average on a 4.0 grading scale or the equivalent grade point average on an alternative scale;
  • Submit 2 letters of recommendation and
  • Complete Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT). Note: GMAT must be completed by the conclusion of the first semester of graduate studies. Please refer to the GMAT website at www.gmat.org for details on the test

Master of Arts in Teaching Program: (Transition to Teaching)
The applicant must:
  • Candidates must have a minimum of the following for consideration:

    • Attend information session
    • CCSJ acceptance
    • Bachelor’s degree
    • 3.0 G.P.A. or 2.5 G.P.A. w/ five years experience related to degree major
    • Pass Praxis I
    • Transcript review
    • Pass interview process
    • Limited Criminal History Clearance
    • Current resume
    • Two letters of recommendation

To be admitted in the Master of Arts in Psychology program:
The applicant must:
  • Hold a bachelor's degree in psychology or have taken at least 18 undergraduate psychology hours to include introductory psychology, introductory statistics, psychological testing, and research methods from an accredited institution of higher learning;
  • Have attained at least a 3.0 grade point average on a 4.0 grading scale or the equivalent grade point average on an alternative scale;
  • Submit a personal statement of purpose describing interest in the field; and future professional goals;
  • Submit two letters of recommendation;
  • Complete a CCSJ graduate application and submit with statement of purpose, three letters of recommendation and a $25.00 non refundable application fee.

When the application process has been completed, a letter stating formal acceptance into the program will be sent to the applicant.
