Crimson Wave Baseball

Baseball Ends Season Against Olivet 
    

5/6/10 – The Crimson Wave Baseball team ended their season today with the final game of the series against conference opponent Olivet Nazarene University. 

The series kicked off on Wednesday afternoon with a single nine inning home game for the Crimson Wave.  The men took a 22-1 loss with Kenny Segal scoring the men’s only run.   John Cap took the loss on the mound for the men while Nate Sabol was 1-2 at the plate.
On Thursday the Crimson Wave traveled to Bourbonnais for the final two games of the series.  In game one the Crimson Wave were defeated 11-0 with Luke Boersma and Segal both going 1-2 at the plate.  Kenny Tipman took a loss on the rubber for the men. 

Game two the Crimson Wave were defeated 8-1 with Julian Griffith going 2-3 at the plate scoring the men’s only run.  Nick Bolda took the loss on the mound. 

The Crimson Wave finishes their season with a 4-43 record overall and 3-27 in the CCAC. 

Baseball Takes Loss to Bradley

5/1/10 - The Crimson Wave baseball team took two losses today to NCAA division one opponent  Bradley University 31-4 and 6-0. 

Ben Stepanian took the loss for the Crimson Wave in game one while Ryan Senko was 3-4 from the plate.  Game two Kenny Tipman took the loss on the mound.  Stepanian and Erik Leibengood were both 1-2 at the plate.

The Crimson Wave will travel to Indiana University Northwest tomorrow May 2nd for a 12:00 pm doubleheader.

Crimson Wave Defeat Trolls

3/29/10 – The Crimson Wave baseball team defeated the Trinity Christian College Trolls last night 11-7 in a seven inning makeup game.
The Crimson Wave jumped out to an early 3-1 first inning lead.  The Crimson Wave scored 5 second inning runs to take a commanding 8-1 lead.   A few innings later the Crimson Wave held off a small Troll rally and took the game 11-7.

Chris Banks was 2-3 at the plate and John Chance was 3-4.    Chance, Ben Stepanian, and Luke Boersma all had 3 RBI’s.   Stepanian also took the win on the mound.

The Crimson Wave will travel to St. Xavier University Wednesday March 31st for a 3:30 pm conference match up.   

Baseball Gets First Conference Win of the Season

3/20/10 – The Crimson Wave baseball team won their first conference game of the season today against the Trinity Christian College Trolls 6-1.

The game started off to a slow start over the first three innings with the Crimson Wave taking a small 2-1 lead.  The Crimson Wave started off the bottom of the 4th inning with back to back singles from Kenny Segal and Adam CobbJohn Chance hit a double to knock in two of the Crimson Wave’s three runs to give the men a 5-1 advantage.  The fifth inning brought a double from Luke Boersma and the final Crimson Wave run.

Chance gave up only 2 hits and struck out three on the day taking the win.

The Crimson Wave will host St. Xavier University on Tuesday March 23rd at 1:30 pm.   

Crimson Wave Improve In Florida Season Opener

1/30/10 - The Crimson Wave baseball team lost a four game series against Ave Maria University in Ave Maria, FL this weekend.

On Friday the Crimson Wave got off to a slow start and suffered 11-1 losses in both games.  The bats were slow with a combined four hits for the day in their first two outdoor games of the season. 

On Saturday in game one, the Crimson Wave lost 6-0 and fell 6-5 in game two.  The bats improved with five hits in game one and 10 hits in game two.

Julian Griffith went 6-8 overall at the plate with a double, Ben Stepanian went 3-9 overall with a double and Kenny Segal went 4-8 overall with a two-run home run in game four.  Jeremy Jeffries added a double.  Ryan Senko stole three bases while John Chance stole third base.  All pitchers were limited to a 65-pitch count.

The Crimson Wave (0-4 overall) will travel to Lambuth University in Jackson, TN, February 20-21 for another four game series.

Angeles Signs with the Crimson Wave

8/6/09 - Calumet College of St. Joseph head baseball coach TonyLouis Angeles Myszak has announced the signing of Louis Angeles, from Twin Lakes High School to a national letter of intent to continue his academic and athletic careers with the Crimson Wave athletic department.

Louis will bring a great work ethic and a positive attitude to the Crimson Wave next season.  Angeles’s glove will add depth and consistency to the men next season. 

Louis will come to Calumet College of St. Joseph to study Business Management.

“With the skills Louis possesses he should make an immediate impact behind the plate. He handles pitchers very well and has great instincts.” Said Coach Tony Myszak

Pruneau Decides on the Crimson Wave

6/22/09 - Calumet College of St.Joseph head baseball coach TonyMatt Pruneau Myszak has announced the signing of Matt Pruneau, from Plainfield High School to a national letter of intent to continue his academic and athletic careers with the Crimson Wave athletic department.

Matt will bring a hard work ethic to the Crimson Wave next season. Matt is a strong pitcher that will compete for a starting spot next season. Matt' dedication to the game will help help boost the young Crimson Wave squad next season.

Matt will come to Calumet College of St. Joseph to study Criminal Justice.

"Matt is a hard worker that will make a lot of contributions to the baseball program here at Calumet College of St. Joseph. I am excited to have him as part of our ball club next year." said Head Coach Tony Myszak on the signing of Matt Pruneau
