CRIMSON WAVE NEWS
In
the fall of 2000, Calumet College of St. Joseph's men's and women's basketball
teams played against Judson College in Elgin, IL. This marked
the very first athletic contest in history for Calumet College of St.
Joseph (CCSJ). Since that time, CCSJ has added baseball, softball,
and men and women's volleyball. Currently there are 95 full-time, student-athletes
at CCSJ.
CCSJ is a member of the National
Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) Division II. All
of the athletic programs at CCSJ compete in the Division II side of
the Chicagoland
Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC).While competing in the CCAC,
all of our teams are eligible to play in the NAIA National Tournament
if they win the CCAC conference tournament.
Our student-athletes hail from many of the local high schools and junior
colleges around the Northwest Indiana and Chicagoland area. CCSJ is just
beginning to grow and establish an athletic identity as well as continuing
to add teams to compete in different sports.
