(1/31/07) Basketball Honors Two with Player of the Week
Men and women’s basketball players Evinn Herring and Candace Bishop
have been named CCAC Player of the Week. Bishop’s performances include
13 points against Judson College and 12 points against Trinity Christian
College. Herring scored 29 points against Trinity Christian College and
18 points against Judson College.
(1/30/07) Women’s Basketball Reschedules Mount
Mary
The women’s basketball game to be played Wednesday January 31st
against Mount Mary College has been rescheduled for February 12th at 7:00
pm. This game will be played at the Hammond Civic Center starting at 7:00
pm.
(1/29/07) Men’s Volleyball at the Lindenwood Invite
The men’s volleyball team competed in the Lindenwood University
Invite this past weekend. The Wave lost all four matches against California
Baptist University, Graceland University, Park University, Hope International
University. Brad Hatfield had 35 kills on the weekend along with Jeff
Robinson’s 98 assists. The men are now 0-7.
(1/29/07) Men’s Bowling Finishes 6th at Blue and Gold Classic
The men’s bowling team competed in the Blue and Gold Classic in
South Bend, IN. The men finished 6th overall. Danny Locke bowled a top
10 performance finishing with a 637 three game series. The men are currently
ranked 16th. Their next event will be a Tier 1 event, The Hoosier Classic
in Indianapolis, IN on February 17-18.
(1/29/07) Men’s Basketball ends 10 Game Winning Streak
Men’s basketball lost their first game in since December 16th on
Saturday to Judson College 64-61. Tom Radtke led the Wave with a double,
double performance 19 points and 13 rebounds. Evinn Herring also had 18
points for the Wave. The men’s record now stands at 16-7 and 4-1
in conference. The Wave will take on Cardinal Stritch University on Saturday
February 3rd at the Hammond Civic Center starting at 3 pm. This game will
also be homecoming.
(1/29/07) Women’s Basketball defeated by Judson College
The women’s basketball team was defeated by Judson College on Saturday
74-53. Michelle Hamblin led the ladies in scoring with 15 points and seven
rebounds. Candace Bishop and Kiesha Dingle both added 13 points for the
Wave. The ladies record is now 4-18. Their next game will be homecoming
on Saturday February 3rd against Cardinal Stritch at the Hammond Civic
Center starting at 1:00 pm.
(1/29/07) Track and Field Compete at All-Tel Classic
The men and women’s track and field teams competed in the All-Tel
Classic this past weekend at the University of Findlay. Martin Jimenez
finished 43rd in the shot put with a throw of 38 feet 1.5 inches. Robert
Torres placed 18th in the long jump, with a jump of 19 feet 4 inches.
On the women’s side Anni Barajas finished 37th in the 800 Meter
Run with a time of 2:45.33. The track and field team’s next event
will be the Taylor Invite on February 3rd.
(1/25/07) Men's Basketball wins 10th Straight
The Crimson Wave men's basketball team won their 10 straight game last
night. The Wave defeated Trinity Christian College 74-52 in regulation.
Evinn Herring led the Wave in scoring with 29 points. The men's record
has now improved to 16-6 overall and 4-0 in conference. The Wave's next
game will be Saturday January 27 at the Hammond Civic Center against Judson
College starting at 3:00 pm.
(1/25/07) Women's Basketball Falls to Trinity Christian College
The women's basketball team was defeated by Trinity Christian College
last night 57-46. Keisha Dingle led the Wave in scoring with 15 points
and four rebounds. The women's record is now 4-18. The ladies next game
will be January 27 at the Hammond Civic Center against Judson College
starting at 1:00 pm.
(1/23/07) Hatfield Named to All-Invitational Team
Senior Brad Hatfield was name to the Clarke College Invitational All-Invitational
Team. Hatfield had 47 kills 20 digs and 9 blocks over the weekend. Hatfield
will be back in action this weekend at the Lindenwood Invitational.
(1/22/07) Crimson Wave Gets Third Straight Conference Win
The Crimson Wave men’s basketball team won their third straight
conference game on Saturday. The men defeated Purdue University North
Central 66-51. Janine Hudson and Marques Robertson each had 13 points
while Evinn Herring had 11 points for the Wave. The men’s overall
record improved to 15-6 and 3-0 in conference. The next game for the Wave
will be Wednesday January 24 at the Hammond Civic Center against Trinity
Christian College starting at 7:00 pm.
(1/22/07) Men’s Volleyball Competes in Clarke College Invite
The men’s volleyball team lost three straight this past
weekend at the Clarke College Invite. The Wave took on Clarke College
first on Friday night, losing three games to zero. Later that night the
men played Park University and fell three games to zero. Sunday brought
St. Ambrose and tough fought battle with the men falling three games to
one. Senior Brad Hatfield finished the weekend with 47 kills along with
Senior Jeff Robinson’s 89 assists. The men’s record is 0-3.
The Wave will travel to Lindenwood University on January 27-28 for the
Lindenwood University Invitational.
(1/22/07) Men’s Bowling Finishes 4th in Eagle
Classic
The Crimson Wave men’s bowling team captured fourth place
this past weekend at the Eagle Classic held in Lexington, KY. Ryan Alberson
finished with an average of 203 for the classic. The men will be traveling
to South Bend, IN on January 27-28 to compete in the Blue and Gold Classic
a Tier 1 Event held at the Beacon Bowl.
(1/22/07) Crimson Wave Track and Field Begins!
The Crimson Wave Track and Field team competed in their first
ever event on Saturday. The men and women competed in the University of
Chicago Invitational in Chicago, IL. Martin Jimenez finished 10th in the
Shot Put with a throw of 11.70 m. For complete results of all Crimson

(1/19/07) Women’s Basketball defeats Andrews University
The Crimson Wave women’s basketball team defeated Andrews University
71-19 last night. Candace Bishop led all scores with 17 points. Michelle
Hamblin added 10 points and seven rebounds. The women are now 4-17 overall.
The ladies next game will be Wednesday January 24 at the Hammond Civic
Center against Trinity Christian College starting at 5:00 pm.
(1/18/07) Men’s Basketball Wins Second Straight Conference
Game
The Crimson Wave men’s basketball team defeated Trinity International
University last night 73-66 for their second straight conference win.
Tom Radtke led the Wave in scoring with 28 points and 6 rebounds. Evinn
Herring added 21 points and 7 rebounds. The men’s overall record
is 14-6 and 2-0 in conference. The men will take on Purdue University
North Central on Saturday January 20 at 3:00 pm. The game will be played
at the Hammond Civic Center.
(1/18/07) Women’s Basketball Defeated by the Trojans
The Crimson Wave women’s basketball team was defeated by Trinity
International University 71-55. Michelle Hamblin led the Wave with a double,
double 15 points and 16 rebounds. Candace Bishop also added 13 points
for the Crimson Wave. The ladies overall record now stands at 3-17 and
0-2 in conference. The ladies will take on Andrews University at the Hammond
Civic Center tomorrow night at 7:00 pm.
(1/17/07) Crimson Wave adds Two More to Player of the Week Honors
Crimson Wave basketball players George Kelly and Candace Bishop
have received CCAC Player of the Week Honors for the week of January 15.
Candace Bishop’s performances included a double, double 29 points
and 10 rebounds against conference rival Cardinal Stritch University.
George Kelly had a 20 and 22 point performance against Moody Bible Institute
and Cardinal Stritch University. Both players will be back in action tonight
against Trinity International University.
(1/17/07) Men’s Volleyball Season Opener at Clarke College
Invite
The Crimson Wave men’s volleyball team will be traveling to Clarke
College on January 20-21 to compete in the Clarke College Invitational.
The men will be competing against Clarke College, Park University and
St. Ambrose University.
(1/16/07) Men’s Basketball Wins First Conference
Game of the Season
The Crimson Wave traveled to Milwaukee, WI on Saturday to take on conference
rival Cardinal Stritch University. The men defeated the Wolves 70-61 in
regulation. Senior Evinn Herring threw in 22 points while Sophomore George
Kelly added 20 points and 6 rebounds for the Wave. Junior Tom Radtke pulled
down 11 boards and scored 9 points. The men are now 13-6 overall and 1-0
in conference. The Wave’s next game will be on Wednesday January
17, at Trinity International University starting at 7:30 pm.
(1/16/07) Women’s Basketball Defeated by the Wolves
The Crimson Wave women’s basketball team was defeated by Cardinal
Stritch University on Saturday 73-57. The Wave’s Candace Bishop
led all scoring with her double, double performance that included 29 points
and 10 rebounds. The women’s record is now 3-16. The Wave’s
next game will be Wednesday January 17, at Trinity International University
starting at 5:00 pm.
(1/16/07) Women’s Bowling Finishes 16th at Hoinke Bearcat
Open
The Crimson Wave women’s bowling team finished 16th overall this
past weekend at the Hoinke Bearcat Open with an average of 799.11. Leading
the Wave was Kym Lozano with an individual average of 169.22. The women’s
bowling team’s next event will be on January 27-28 when they travel
to South Bend, IN to compete in the Blue and Gold Classic.
(1/12/07) Six Straight for Men’s Basketball
Men’s basketball has won their sixth straight game knocking off
Moody Bible Institute last night 73-65. George Kelly had a game high 22
points, while Tom Radtke added 16 points and 10 rebounds for the Wave.
The men are now 12-6 heading into tomorrow’s conference match up
against Cardinal Stritch University. The game will be played at Cardinal
Stritch starting at 4:00 pm.
(1/11/07) Crimson Wave Grab Two Players of the Week Spots
Crimson Wave basketball player’s Junior Tom Radtke and Junior Kim
Harkleroad were name CCAC Players of the Week today. Last week performances
included 18 points from Harkleroad against Robert Morris College. Radtke
had two nights of 22 each against East West University and Illinois Institute
of Technology.
(1/10/07) Women’s Basketball Falls Short
The Crimson Wave women’s basketball team fell short to Purdue University
Calumet last night 50-48. Candace Bishop led the Wave in scoring with
14 points. Michelle Hamblin added 10 points and 10 rebounds for the Crimson
Wave. The ladies record is now 3-15. Their next game will be Saturday
January 13th at Cardinal Stritch University starting at 2:00 pm.
(1/9/07) Crimson Wave on a Roll
The men’s basketball collected their fifth straight win last night
against Indiana University Northwest 84-55. The Wave’s Kyle Burkholder
ended the night with 14 points and two assists going 4-7 from behind the
arc. Also, scoring for the Wave was Tom Radtke with 13 and Brandon Boles
with 11. The men’s record now stands at 11-6. The Wave’s next
game is Thursday January 11th at Moody Bible Institute starting at 7:00
pm.
(1/9/07) Women’s Basketball Falls to Robert Morris College
The women’s basketball team took a tough loss to Robert Morris College
76-44 on Sunday. Junior Guard Kim Harkleroad led all scores with 18. The
women’s record is now 3-14. The next game for the ladies will be
on January 9th against Purdue University Calumet. That game will be played
at the Hammond Civic Center starting at 7:00 pm.
(1/8/07) Men’s Basketball Wins Fourth Straight
The men’s basketball team has won their fourth straight
game to move to 10-6. The men defeated Illinois Institute of Technology
on Saturday afternoon 79-63. Senior guard Evinn Herring led all scores
with 25. Tom Radtke finished right behind Herring with 22 points. The
men will take on Indiana University Northwest tonight at the Savannah
Center starting at 7:00 pm.
(1/5/07) Men’s Basketball Rides the Wave
to Victory
Crimson Wave men’s basketball team defeated East-West University
last night 71-63. The Wave led by six going into the second half. Throughout
the second half the Crimson Wave’s Tom Radtke took control going
4-5 from the field with five rebounds. Radtke ended the night with 22
points. Evinn Herring and Brandon Boles both threw in 10 a piece for the
Wave. The men improved their record to 9-6.
(1/4/07) Mount Mary Rescheduled
The Crimson Wave women’s basketball team has rescheduled their game
against Mount Mary College for Wednesday January 31st. The game will be
played at the Hammond Civic Center at 7PM.
(1/3/07) Crimson Wave to be Heard on HSSP Radio
Calumet College of St. Joseph and High School Sports Publications (HSSP)
have come to an agreement to provide radio coverage throughout our men
and women’s conference basketball schedule. HSSP Radio will broadcast
the following games: January 20th against Purdue University North Central
3:00 PM, January 24th against Trinity Christian College 5:00 PM, January
27th against Judson College 1:00 PM, February 3rd against Cardinal Stritch
University 1:00 PM (Homecoming). To listen to any of these broadcasts

(1/2/07) Crimson Wave Men's Bowling
Our men’s bowling team traveled out to the east coast this over
the holiday break and had a very successful trip. The team finished in
the TOP 10 within each event. The first tournament was held in Allentown,
PA for the Keystone-Quaker Classic where the team finished in 7th place
overall out of 42 teams. Mike Scholl led the way for the Crimson Wave
by bowling an average of 198.5 throughout the event with a high a 225.
This event was a BIG tier 1 tournament for the Crimson Wave because they
earned double point within the national rankings with their 7th place
finish.
The Crimson Wave then rolled on towards the great state of New Jersey,
hung out with Tony Soprano for some bowling advice, and then made their
mark at the Nittany Lion Kegler Classic hosted by Penn State University.
The men’s team brought the momentum from Allentown to Stratford,
NJ and took 6th place overall out of 40 teams in another important tier
1 event. The men’s team missed making the top five by 7 pins. The
Crimson Wave was led this time by Ryan Gleghorn who ended up finishing
in 4th place as an individual with an average of 209.3 for 9 games and
a high score of 245. This was Ryan’s second top 5 finish this season.
The definition of team was exemplified during their travels out to the
East coast with great contributions from Ryan Alberson, Mike Scholl, Nick
Palanyk, Andrew Saenz, Danny Locke, Ryan Gleghorn and Mike Svilar. The
team continues to represent the College and Region well with quality bowling
against top teams from the country.
The Crimson Wave men’s team will travel to Lexington, KY for the
Eagle Classic on January 20th and 21st.
