Baseball Ends Season and Honors Seasons

4/27/12 – The Crimson Wave baseball team ended their season tonight in a loss to Holy Cross College in CCAC conference game.  The Crimson Wave honored their seniors before the start of the game.

The Crimson Wave were defeated 10-5 at  Oil City Stadium.  Deniz Sidkey led the Crimson Wave going 2-3 at the plate with one run and three RBI’s.  Matt Pruneau took the loss on the mound after facing 15 batters in two innings.

The Crimson Wave said goodbye to seniors Nate Sabol, Erik Leibengood, Mike Rokicki, Deniz Sidkey and Nate Spencer.

Baseball This Week

4/16/12 – The Crimson Wave baseball team will host the University of St. Francis at home on Friday April 20th at 6:00 pm at Oil City Stadium.

The Crimson Wave will take to the road on Saturday April 21st when the head to Joliet, IL to finish the series with USF in a 12:00 pm doubleheader.

The Crimson Wave are currently 6-34 overall and 3-19 in the CCAC. 

Baseball Takes Loss at Home

4/10/12 – The Crimson Wave baseball team took a loss tonight to Chicago State University at Oil City Stadium 14-2.

The Crimson Wave scored their two runs in the fifth inning of play on a Jason Murray single to center field and a Chicago State error. The Crimson Wave were led by Nate Sabol and Murray who were both 2-3 from the plate.

The Crimson Wave are now 6-29 overall and will travel to Robert Morris University tomorrow for a 5:00 pm doubleheader. 

Baseball a Weeks Look

4/9/12 – The Crimson Wave baseball team will face Chicago State University tomorrow at 3:00 pm at Oil City Stadium. 

The Crimson Wave will then face off against two conference opponents, Robert Morris University on April 11th in Bensenville, IL at 5:00 pm and Judson University on Saturday April 14th at 12:00 pm at Oil City Stadium.

The Crimson Wave are currently 6-28 and 3-15 overall. 

Baseball Loses Rhythm Against Cougars

4/6/12 – The Crimson Wave baseball team lost their rhythm half way through tonight against the St. Xavier University Cougars in a CCAC game at Oil City Stadium.  The Crimson Wave are now 6-26 overall and 3-13 in the CCAC.

The Crimson Wave jumped out to a quick 1-0 lead in the second inning when Luke Boersma hit a double scoring Nate Spencer.   The Crimson Wave extended their lead to three with a Julian Griffith triple scoring Deniz Sidkey and Nate Sabol.    CCSJ further extended their lead with the fourth run of the game on a Tom Sherry sacrifice bunt that scored Derek Brandenburg.  The Cougars finally put themselves on the board with two runs in the top of the fifth inning. 

A Boersma single scoring Griffith gave CCSJ a 5-2 lead.  The Cougars would then take control scoring 10 unanswered runs in the 7th and 8th innings for a 12-5 win.

The Crimson Wave were led by Griffith who went 2-3 at the plate with two RBI’s and a run scored. Brandenburg and Boersma were both 2-4.  Boersma added two RBI’s.  Alex Ramirez took the loss on the mound tonight for CCSJ.

The Crimson Wave will head to St. Xavier tomorrow for a 12:00 pm CCAC doubleheader. 

Baseball Comes Up Short At Home

4/3/12 – The Crimson Wave baseball took two losses tonight at home against Illinois Tech coming up a run short in game two.  The Crimson Wave are now 6-25 overall and 3-12 in the CCAC.

In game one the Crimson Wave took a 12-2 loss.  In third inning of play Julian Griffith hit a homerun over the wall at Oil City Stadium to put CCSJ on the board.  The second Crimson Wave run came in the sixth inning on a Nate Sabol single to left field that scored Jason Murray.  Matt Pruneau took the loss on the mound.  Sabol was 1-2 at the plate.

In game two the Crimson Wave came out strong grabbing a 3-0 lead in the first inning.  A Sabol doubled to right center followed by a Mike Dobosz single put two runners on.  Griffith doubled down the left field line to score both Sabol and Dobosz.  Griffith scored on an IIT error.  An IIT run in the second and third innings cut the CCSJ lead to one.

In the bottom of the third,  Sabol scored on a Luke Boersma sacrifice fly to right field to go up 4-2.   Illinois Tech scored two runs in the fourth inning and one in the sixth to take the victory.  Brandon Beason took the loss for CCSJ.  Dobosz was 2-4 while teammate Griffith was 1-2. 

The Crimson Wave will host St. Xavier University on April 6th at 6:00 pm at Oil City Stadium.  

Baseball Splits With Wolves at Oil City Stadium

3/28/12 – The Crimson Wave baseball team split tonight with the Cardinal Stritch University Wolves in a CCAC doubleheader at Oil City Stadium in Whiting, IN.  The Crimson Wave are now 6-20 overall and 3-7 in the CCAC.

In game one the Crimson Wave took an 8-6 loss in 8 innings.  The Crimson Wave Wave’s first run came in the fourth inning on a Mike Gamble RBI.  An inning later the Crimson Wave grabbed two more runs when Coty Majchrzak scored on a Wolves error and a Deniz Sidkey single to center field brought in Nathan Sabol.   The sixth inning brought two more CCSJ runs when Gamble and Tom Sherry both scored on Wolves errors.  The final Calumet run came in the seventh inning when a Sherry single brought in Eric Leibengood. 

The Crimson Wave took control of game two from the start as they took an early 2-0 lead in the first inning of play.  Jason Murray scored on a Francisco Johnson walk while Julian Griffith scored on a Leibengood walk.   Inning two brought seven CCSJ runs off six hits and two Wolves errors.  The tenth CCSJ run came in the fourth inning on Leibengood sacrifice fly. 

CCSJ opened the fifth inning with a 10-3 lead.  Luis Angeles singled singled to center field for an RBI and an 11-3 CCSJ lead. The sixth inning brought the final CCSJ run when Alex Ramirez scored on a Jim Wanda single giving the Crimson Wave a 12-9 victory.

The Crimson Wave will travel to Purdue University North Central this Friday for CCAC conference game.

Baseball Falls Short to the Trolls

3/27/12 –  The Crimson Wave took a CCAC doubleheader loss to the Trinity Christian College Trolls tonight at Oil City Stadium in Whiting, IN.

In game one the Crimson Wave took a 7-2 loss.  CCSJ scored their first run in the second inning as Francisco Johnson singled to left center field scoring Deniz Sidkey.   The last Crimson Wave run came in the sixth inning as Nathan Sabol singled to center scoring Tom Sherry. The Crimson Wave were led by Johnson who was 2-3 with an RBI and Sidkey who was 1-1 with a run scored. 

Game two came down to the wire as it went to the 9th inning tied 1-1.  The Trolls scored their run in the first inning taking an early lead on a Billy Miller double to left field that earned him an RBI.  The Crimson Wave scored their run in the fifth inning when Jim Wanda scored on an error.

In the top of the 9th inning the Trolls grabbed a run on a CCSJ error.  The Trolls took the game 2-1.
The Crimson Wave were led by Sabol at the plate going 1-1.

Pitcher Jon Cap threw 8 innings earning four strikeouts.  Michael Rokicki took the loss in the 9th inning. 

The Crimson Wave will host Cardinal Stritch University tomorrow at 4:00 pm at Oil City Stadium.  

Baseball Splits at Home

3/21/12- The Crimson Wave baseball team split a doubleheader today against Aquinas College at Oil City Stadium.  The Crimson Wave are now 5-16 overall.

The Crimson Wave took a 9-3 loss to the Saints.  Matt Pruneau took the loss on the mound with four strikeouts after facing 23 batters.  The Crimson Wave grabbed their first two runs in the second inning after Tom Sherry scored on a wild pitch and then Nate Spencer got on base scoring Brandon Beason on an Aquinas error.  CCSJ’s final run came when a Luis Angeles bunt scored Jim Wanda.  Angeles was 2-3 with an RBI.

In game two the Crimson Wave took a 6-4 win.  Jason Murray took the win for the Crimson Wave.  CCSJ found themselves down 2-0 after the top of the third.  In the bottom of the third Coty Majchrzak singled scoring Sherry to cut the deficit to one.  After giving up two runs in the fifth CCSJ trailed 4-1. 

CCSJ opened up the game in the 6th inning when the men scored 5 unanswered runs.  Nate Sabol singled scoring Majchrzak who helped himself around the bases with a steal.  A Julian Griffith single to right field brought in Jonathan CardenasDerek Brandenburg singled scoring Nate Spencer.  Luke Boersma closed out the inning with a two run double that scored Brandenburg and Griffith. 

Majchrzak was 2-2 at the plate with a run and an RBI.  Cardenas was 2-3 with a run while teammate Griffith was 1-2 with a  run and an RBI. 

The Crimson Wave will travel to Trinity Christian College on Friday March 23rd for a 3:30 pm game. 

Baseball Sweeps TIU in CCAC Doubleheader

3/20/12 - The Crimson Wave baseball team swept Trinity International University tonight in a CCAC doubleheader at Oil City Stadium.

The Crimson Wave took game one 1-0 over the Trojans.  Brandon Martin took the win with five strikeouts while Michael Rokicki grabbed the save.   The Crimson Wave scored their only run in the third inning when Jonathan Cardenas grounded out to first base scoring Coty Majchrzak.  Deniz Sidkey, Nathan Sabol and Luke Boersma were all 1-2 at the plate.

In game two CCSJ grabbed a 6-5 win over the Trojans.  Derek Brandenburg took the win while Rokicki again grabbed the save.  The Crimson Wave went up 2-1 in the second inning on a Julian Griffith double and a Tom Sherry RBI.  The third inning brought two more CCSJ runs  Mike Dobosz RBI and a second Griffith double.  TIU tied the game at 4-4 in the top of the fourth inning.  The Crimson Wave answered back in the a run off a Majchrzak double.
  CCSJ scored their final run in the sixth inning on Dobosz single scoring Jason Murray.  Griffith was 2-3 with 2 RBI’s while Cardenas and Boersma were each 1-2.

The Crimson Wave will host Aquinas College tomorrow at 3:00 pm at Oil City Stadium. 

Baseball Falls Short At Home

3/17/12 – The Crimson Wave baseball took a tough loss in game one and fell a run short in game two of a CCAC doubleheader against Olivet Nazarene University today at Oil City Stadium.

The Crimson Wave took a 16-4 loss in game one.  John Cap took the loss on the mound with three strikeouts.  Jason Murray and Ramone Griffith were each 1-1 at the plate with a run each.  Murray added an RBI.  Tom Sherry was 1-3 with 2 runs.

In the second game the Crimson Wave came up a run short taking a 2-1 loss.  Tony Balcazar took the loss on the mound with three strikeouts in a well pitched game.  Deniz Sidkey and Mike Gamble were each 1-2 at the plate while teammate Jonathan Cardenas was 1-3 with a run.

The Crimson Wave are now 2-15 overall and 0-3 in the CCAC.  CCSJ will host Trinity International University on March 20th at 4:00 pm.

Baseball Drops Two on Final Day in Florida

3/10/12 – The Crimson Wave baseball team dropped both games of a doubleheader against Florida Christian College in the teams last day in Florida.

The Crimson Wave came out in game one and took Florida Christian to 8 innings before being defeated 6-5.  The Crimson Wave were led by 2-3 performance at the plate by Jonathan Cardenas that ended in and RBI and two runs.  Luke Boersma was 2-2 at the plate with two RBI’s. 

In game two the Crimson Wave were defeated 5-1.  Nathon Spencer and Ramone Griffith were both 1-2 at the plate.  Spencer added one run. 

The Crimson Wave return home 2-12 overall.  The men will take a small break then head to Olivet Nazarene University on March 16th for a 3:00 pm game. 

Baseball Takes Loss to Evangel

3/8/12 – The Crimson Wave baseball team took a doubleheader loss today to Evangel University.  The Crimson Wave are now 2-8 overall.

In game one the Crimson Wave took an 8-0 loss.  Jonathan Cardenas was 1-3 at the plate.  Mike Matuszczak took the loss on the mound for CCSJ with 3 strikeouts.

In the second game of the doubleheader Calumet took an 18-7 loss.  Derek Brandenburg hit a two run shot and a three run homer for the Crimson Wave.  Brandenburg tallied 5 RBI’s and two runs while going 2-3 at the plate.  Jason Murray was 3-4 with two RBI’s and a run.  Alex Ramirez took the loss on the mound for the Crimson Wave.

The Crimson Wave baseball team will be back in action tomorrow as they take on  Lourdes College at 10:00 am. 

Baseball Drops Two to Siena Heights

3/6/12 – The Crimson Wave baseball team dropped both games of a doubleheader today to Siena Heights University.

The Crimson Wave took a 20-0 loss in game one.  Matt Pruneau took the loss on the mound for the Crimson Wave.  The Crimson Wave had 8 hits in the loss.

In game two the Crimson Wave were defeated 7-3.  Nathon Spencer was 1-1 with an RBI and a run after hitting a homerun in the 6th inning over the right field fence.  Deniz Sidkey, Eric Whitley and Luke Boersma were all 1-3 at the plate.  Sidkey and Boersma each had a run while Whitely had an RBI.  James Wanda took the loss on the mound for the Crimson Wave.

The Crimson Wave are now 2-4 overall and will take on Southeastern University tomorrow in a 3:00 pm doubleheader. 

Baseball Rolls Over Houghton in Opener

3/2/12 - The Crimson Wave baseball team rolled over Houghton College today opening the season with two wins in an afternoon doubleheader.

The Crimson Wave won game one 11-7.  Tony Balcazar took the win going 4 and two thirds innings.  Luke Boersma and Deniz Sidkey each had a double with two RBI’s.  Jonathan Cardenas had two hits in the win.

In game two the Crimson Wave took a7-4 win.  James Wanda took the win as relief.  Mike Dobosz was 3-4 with three RBI’s.  Erik Leibengood, Nate Sabol, Luis Angeles and Cardenas each doubled in the win. 

The Crimson Wave will be back in action on Monday March 5th against Point Park University. 

Baseball Wooden Bat Classic

9/30/11 - The Crimson Wave baseball team host their annual wooden bat classic today Friday September 30th and tomorrow Saturday October 1st at Oil City Stadium in Whiting, IN.

The Crimson Wave will kick off the tournament against Olive Harvey College at 5:00 pm on Friday night with Grace College against Holy Cross College following directly after at 7:30 pm.
Saturday’s games will begin with a 4:00 pm consolation game and the championship game scheduled for 6:30 pm. 

Bolda Named CCAC Pitcher of the Year

5/9/11 - Crimson Wave Senior baseball player Nick Bolda has been named CCAC Pitcher of the Year with a spot on the CCAC All-Conference First Team for his performances this season.

Bolda capped a four year career with CCSJ in skillful fashion as he recorded 81 strikeouts and held a 1.80 era on the season.  Bolda was the CCAC leader in strikeouts and opposing batting average and was second in earned run average.  Bolda ended his season 5-4 on the mound. 

Banks Grabs Golden Glove

5/9/11 - Senior Chris Banks was named to the CCAC Golden Glove Team.   Banks held a .968 fielding average while making only three errors on the season. 

Banks recorded 81 put outs while batting .356.  Banks played in 46 games this season for the Crimson Wave. 

Baseball Ends Season Today at Oil City Stadium

5/1/11 – The Crimson Wave baseball team ended their season today at Oil City Stadium at Standard Diamonds Park in Whiting, IN.  The Crimson were defeated by CCAC opponent Purdue University North Central 21-2.

The Crimson Wave were led Luke Boersma going 1-2 at the plate while teammates Luis Angeles, Nate Sabol and Ramone Griffith were all 1-3.  Matt Pruneau took the loss on the mound for the men.

The Crimson Wave ended their season 12-35 overall and 8-20 in the CCAC.

Baseball Splits with Judson

4/30/11 – The Crimson Wave baseball team split with Judson University today in a home doubleheader at Oil City Stadium.

The Crimson Wave came up a run short in the eighth inning of play in game one 6-5.  Nate Sabol led the men going 3-4 at the plate with two RBI’s and a run scored.  Chris Banks was 2-4 with two RBI’s.  Kenny Tipman took the loss on the mound for the men.

In game two the Crimson Wave took a 6-4 win.  Ryan Senko was 2-2 at the plate with teammate Eric Whitley going 2-3 with a RBI and a run scored.  Kevin Schroeder and Tommy Sherry were both 1-2 with Sherry grabbing two RBI’s.  Andrew Fletcher took the win for the Crimson Wave.

Baseball Defeated at St. Francis

4/21/11 – The Crimson Wave baseball team was defeated in the rescheduled game against the University of St. Francis 10-4 in Joliet, IL.

The men were led by Chris Banks and Luke Boersma both going 2-5 at the plate.  Tommy Sherry and Luis Angeles were both 1-3.  Crimson Wave runs were scored by Ryan Senko, Nathan Sabol, Kevin Schroeder and Sherry.  Matt Pruneau took the loss on the mound for the men with two strikeouts.

The Crimson Wave men will be back in action tomorrow at 4:00 pm when they host Purdue North Central in the official grand opening of Oil City Stadium.

Baseball Takes Doubleheader Loss to St. Francis

4/17/11 – The Crimson Wave baseball team hosted the University of St. Francis Fighting Saints today in a rescheduled game from yesterday afternoon.

The men were defeated in game one 1-0.  Nick Bolda pitched a complete game striking out five along the way.  The men held off the Saints for seven innings before giving up a homerun in the top of the inning for a 1-0 deficit.  The men were led by Deniz Sidkey, Luis Angeles and Eric Whitely all going 1-3 from the plate.

The Crimson Wave men were defeated in game two 13-0.  Jon Cap took the loss on the mound for the Crimson Wave.   Whitely and Ryan Senko were both 1-2 at the plate.

The men will be back in action on Tuesday April 19th when they host the Robert Morris University Eagles at 3:00 pm in Oil City Stadium.

Baseball Sweeps Cardinal Stritch

4/13/11 – The Crimson Wave baseball team swept the Cardinal Stritch Wolves today in Milwaukee, WI 5-2 and 7-5.

In game one Timothy Williams pitched a complete game earning three strikeouts and giving up only four hits.  The men scored their first run in the top of the first on a Deniz Sidkey RBI. 

Going into the fifth inning the Crimson Wave found themselves down 2-1.   They would answer back with two runs when Nate Sabol drove in Erick Whitely and Chris Banks drove in Tommy Sherry.  
The Crimson Wave would score their final two runs in the seventh.  Whitely would score along with Ryan Senko for the Crimson Wave victory.

Whitely led the Crimson Wave going 2-2 at the plate with 2 runs scored, while teammate Senko was 2-3 with two runs scored.

In game two the Crimson Wave took a 7-5 win. The men fell behind in the third giving up four runs.  The Crimson Wave would come back with 6 runs of their own in the fourth.    Sidkey would score the first run of the inning on a Stritch error.  Luke Boersma would score on a fielder’s choice.    Sherry reached on a fielder’s choice bringing in Schroeder.  A play later Whitely scored on a wild pitch.  Sabol and Sherry scored the last two runs of the inning for a  6-4 lead.

Each team would score a final run to give the Crimson Wave the victory.  Matt Pruneau grabbed his first college win on the mound. Sabol was 2-3 at the plate with a run scored and a RBI.

The Crimson Wave are now 10-25 overall and 6-11 in the CCAC.  The men will travel to the University of St. Francis on Friday April 15th for a 3:00 pm game. 

Baseball Takes Loss to Trinity Christian

4/12/11 - The Crimson Wave baseball team took a tough loss tonight to CCAC opponent Trinity Christian College Trolls 6-3 at Oil City Stadium.

The Crimson Wave fell behind 4-0 in the third inning.  The men grabbed their first run in the fourth inning when Chris Banks singled bringing in Ryan Senko.  The men scored their final two runs in the fifth inning when Senko and Nathan Sabol both scored.  The Trolls scored a run in each of the 6th and 8th innings.  Banks took the loss on the mound tonight with five strikeouts.

Banks led the team at the plate going 3-5 with Sabol going 2-4 with a run scored.

The Crimson Wave will be back in action on Wednesday April 13th for a doubleheader at Cardinal Stritch University at 2:00 pm.

Baseball Splits with Trolls

4/9/11 – The Crimson Wave baseball team split today with the Trinity Chrisitan College Trolls in a CCAC doubleheader in Palos Heights, IL. 

The Crimson Wave won game one 5-4.  Nate Sabol and Deniz Sidkey were both 2-3 from the plate with Sidkey adding a run and RBI.  Tommy Sherry was 2-4 with two runs scored and an RBI.  Nick Bolda grabbed the win on the mound for the men with four strikeouts.

In game two the Crimson Wave were defeated 8-0 by the Trolls.  Sherry was 1-2 from the plate.  Jon Cap took the loss on the mound striking out four in five innings. 

The Crimson Wave are now 8-24 overall and 5-10 in league play.  The Crimson Wave will be back in action on Tuesday April 10th when they host Trinity Christian College in the final game of the series beginning at 6:00 pm at Oil City Stadium.

4/6/11 – The Crimson Wave baseball team took a tough doubleheader loss to Olivet Nazarene University in a CCAC conference doubleheader.

The Crimson Wave took a game one loss 15-1. 
Deniz Sidkey and Tommy Sherry were both 2-3 from the plate.  In game two the Crimson Wave were defeated 12-2.  Alex Ramirez was 2-2 from the plate with one run scored.

The Crimson Wave will host Trinity Christian College on Friday April 8th at 5:00 pm at Oil City Stadium in Whiting, IN. 

Baseball Wins Two in Oil City Stadium Opener
    

4/2/11 – The Crimson Wave baseball team won their first doubleheader in the new Oil City Stadium today against CCAC opponent the Holy Cross College Saints.  Oil City Stadium is the Crimson Wave’s new constructed home field in Whiting, IN.

The Crimson Wave won game one in extra innings 2-1.  The game remained scoreless till the tenth inning.  The Saints scored first grabbing one run in the top of the inning.  The men answered right back for the win.  Ramone Griffith walked setting up the tying run.  Deniz Sidkey singled advancing Griffith to second.    Luis Angeles singled scoring Griffith to tie the game at 1.  After Kevin Schroeder was hit by a pitch putting Sidkey on third base Nate Sabol grabbed the winning hit bringing in Sidkey.  Nick Bolda had thirteen strikeouts on the mound for the win. 

The men won game two 6-0 scoring all six runs in the first inning. Ryan Senko, Sabol, Chris Banks and Sidkey each had first inning hit along with RBI’s from Sidkey, Angeles, Leibengood, and Senko.  Jon Cap took the win for the Crimson Wave with seven strikeouts.

The Crimson Wave are now 7-21 overall and 4-7 in the CCAC.  The men will host Olivet Nazarene University on Wednesday April 6th at 3:00 pm in a conference doubleheader.  The game will be played in Oil City Stadium, the Crimson Wave’s home field.

Baseball Split with Lakers

3/27/11 - The Crimson Wave baseball team faced CCAC opponent the Roosevelt University Lakers today in a home doubleheader.

The Crimson Wave took a tough 1-0 loss when the Lakers scored in the bottom of the 6th inning.  

Tommy Sherry was 1-1 at the plate with teammates Chris Banks and Ramone Griffith both 1-3.  Nick Bolda took the loss on the mound with 11 strikeouts.

The Crimson Wave came back in game two for a 4-0 win.  Ramone Griffith led the way going 1-3 with 2 runs scored while Banks was 1-2.  Luke Boersma and Kevin Schroeder were both 1-3.  Tim Williams took the win on the mound for the men with two strikeouts. 

The Crimson Wave will travel to Chicago, IL on Wednesday March 30th for a 1:00 pm doubleheader at Illinois Tech.

Baseball Takes Doubleheader Loss to SXU

3/19/11 – The Crimson Wave baseball team hosted CCAC opponent St. Xavier University today in a 1:00 pm doubleheader.

In game one the Crimson Wave were defeated 4-0 nothing in a closely played game.  Luis Angeles had the only hit of the game for the men.  Nick Bolda took the loss on the mound giving up only 6 hits and striking out 5.

In game two the Crimson Wave were defeated 10-1.  Tommy Sherry was 1-3 at the plate with an RBI and Eric Whitely was also 1-3 with one run scored.  Kenny Tipman took the loss on the mound.

The Crimson Wave will be back on the field Tuesday March 22nd when they host Roosevelt University at 1:30 pm.  The game will be played at Calumet High School. 

Baseball Takes Loss to SXU

3/18/11 – The Crimson Wave baseball team took a tough loss to CCAC opponent St. Xavier University today, 15-5, in seven innings.

Luis Angeles was 2-3 at the plate while teammate Deniz Sidkey was 1-1 with 1 run scored.  Ramone Griffith was 1-3 with 1 run scored as well.

The Crimson Wave baseball team will be back in action tomorrow when they host St. Xavier in a 1:00 pm doubleheader.  The game will be played at Calumet High School. 

Baseball Games – Home Location

3/17/11 – The Crimson Wave baseball team will play their first two home games of the season at Calumet High School.  The Crimson Wave will take on St. Xavier University on Saturday March 19th at 1:00 pm and Roosevelt University Tuesday March 22nd at 3:00 pm both being played at Calumet High School.  Directions to Calumet High School are available by Clicking Here.

Baseball Splits with Cincinnati Christian

3/7/11 – The Crimson Wave baseball team split with Cincinnati Christian University today winning game one 4-0 and coming up short in game two 4-2.

Nick Bolda grabbed his second straight win on the mound in game one pitching a two hit shutout.  Bolda struck out 11 and did not give up a single walk.  Today’s win improves Bolda’s season record to 2-1.  Chris Banks was 2-3 at the plate with two runs scored and a RBI. 

In game two the men took a 4-2 loss.  Kenny Tipman took the loss on the mound for the men striking out three and only giving up five hits.  Ryan Senko had a double with one run scored and one stolen base.

The Crimson Wave baseball team is now 2-8 overall will be back in action tomorrow against Geneva College.   

Men Split at Brescia Day One

2/25/11 - The Crimson Wave baseball team traveled to Brescia University this weekend for a pair of doubleheaders.

On Friday afternoon the Crimson Wave won game one 3-1.  Nick Bolda took the win on the mound earning 10 strikeouts.  The men scored their first run in the first inning of action on a double steal.  With Nate Sabol on first and Ryan Senko on third, Sabol took off for second forcing the catcher to make the throw, opening the door for Senko to steal home a score the men’s first run. 

The second inning brought the Crimson Wave’s other two runs.  The first on a hit by Sabol driving in one run.  The second run came from a single to right by Chris Banks driving in the second run of the inning. 

In game two Kenny Tipman took the loss on the mound 2-0.  Tipman only allowed five hits in the game. 

The Crimson Wave are now 1-5 on the season and will return to Brescia tomorrow for the second doubleheader of the weekend. 

Baseball Opens Season at Ave Maria

1/30/11 – The Crimson Wave baseball team opened their season this weekend at Ave Maria University in Ave Maria, Fl doubleheaders on Friday and Saturday afternoons. 

The Crimson Wave were defeated in Friday’s doubleheaders 6-1 and 6-4.  In the first game Julian Griffith was 2-3 at the plate with an rbi.  In a game two Luke Boersma was 2-3 with and rbi and a run.  Tommy Sherry was 1-3 with a run.

On day two the Crimson Wave were defeated 7-0 and 10-0.  Chris Banks, Boersma and Griffith were all 1-2 at the plate in game one.  In game two Banks was 1-1 and Nathan Sabol was 1-2.

The Crimson Wave are 0-4 and will be back in action on February 25th and 26th at Brescia University for back to back doubleheaders starting at 2:00 pm and 12:00 pm.
