As members of the CCSJ Crew, we learn to row, practice on Wolf Lake, maintain our equipment, work out, and compete against other clubs and colleges. We volunteer our time at the Illiana Yacht Club, and at events for the community in partnership with the Wolf Lake Initiative.
We are always searching for determined and interested recruits, men and women. No experience is necessary, but you must be able to swim, and be committed to practices, work-outs, and staying healthy. If you wish to compete, you will need to complete a sports physical.
Friday 8:45 am -- 12:00, Saturday 8:00 am -- 11:00.
Additional practices as needed during the season.
We launch from the Illiana Yacht Club on the western shore of Hammond's Wolf Lake.
Joan Crist rowed for 7 seasons at St. John's College in Annapolis, Maryland, and has completed level 1 coaching training with the U.S. Rowing Association. She teaches philosophy and religious studies at the college.
