Justin Olson will enter his third season as head coach of the Crimson Wave men’s soccer program in the fall of 2014.
Olson guided the Crimson Wave to their first ever Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference playoff berth in 2013. Along the way, the Crimson Wave set the school record for most regular season wins as they ended the regular season at 9-9. Two players from the Crimson Wave earned post-season honors in Nick Barango and Felipe Garcia da Silva as they both received All-Conference 2nd Team. Nick Barango was second the CCAC Conference with 14 goals in 18 games.
2012 saw the program’s most successful season in the program’s history prior to the 2013 campaign. One player from the Crimson Wave earned a post season honor in Senior Jesus Avalos as he was awarded All-Conference 2nd Team.
Outside of the collegiate game, Coach Olson also coaches the u17 boy’s team for NWI United. Olson led NWI United to their best season yet as they finished second in the league in scoring and had the best overall defense that only allowed eight goals all season.
Off the field, Olson embodies all that Calumet College of St. Joseph represents. He is devoted to providing a great experience to his student athletes and assisting in their development both on and off the field. Coach Olson brings a great passion for the game of soccer and he believes it is a great stage that teaches student-athletes a lot of great life lessons.
In addition to his role as the men’s head soccer coach, Olson also works in the Sports Information Department and serves as a game day supervisor for other Crimson Wave home events.

Mulroe returns to the Crimson Wave after a four year playing career with the men’s soccer program. While with the Crimson Wave Mulroe was named team captain for the 2009 season and was named to the 2009 Crimson Wave Invite All-Invite team after the team took the championship game of the invite.
