Cristina Schmidt will enter her sixth season as the head coach of the Crimson Wave women’s basketball program.  During Schmidt’s tenure with CCSJ she has taken the Crimson Wave to back to back CCAC Tournament Championship games in 2010 and 2011.
 
Coach Schmidt came to the Crimson Wave in the fall of 2007 and was very familiar with the CCAC after a great playing career with then Purdue University Calumet Lakers.  While at PUC Schmidt was named CCAC All-Conference in 2000, 2001 and 2002.  She was named team defensive player of the year in 2000 and 2001.  On the offensive end Schmidt scored over 1,000 points in her college career.

Schmidt has had much success with the Crimson Wave posting the best records in program history in going 8-4 in the CCAC in the 2010-2011 season and going 15-17 overall.
