Schlegel Takes Second at Mike Lalaeff
The Crimson Wave men’s golf team competed in the Mike Lalaeff Invitational at Lost Marsh in a today event that concluded today.
The Crimson Wave were led by a 2nd place overall finish by Connor Schlegel who tallied an 80 and 74 for a two day total of 154. Brian Contreras helped CCSJ to their 3rd place finish shooting an 82 each day for a 5th place individual finish.
Tyler Noel took 14th overall with a two day total of 170 followed by Anthony Spalla in 22nd place and Jim elder in 26th place.
The Crimson Wave will be back in action on October 5th when they compete in the Trinity Christian Invitational.
Men's Golf Ends Season at CCAC Championships
The Crimson Wave golf team competed in the CCAC Championships this week which was held at the Flossmoor Country Club in Illinois. There were twelve schools that competed in this event and CCSJ would go on to finish 10th scoring 687.
Anthony Rubino, Tyler Nicol, Brian Contreras, Michael Bafia, and Anthony Spalla represented the Crimson Wave in this event. Anthony Rubino had a strong finish in 12th place as he shot 159. Tyler Nicol finished tied for 35th as he shot a 171. Brian Contreras wasn’t far behind as he tied for 39th and shot a 174. Michael Bafia and Anthony Spalla shot a 183 and 185 respectively.
Overall the Crimson Wave men’s golf team had a successful season with nine top ten finishes. The Crimson Wave will say goodbye to three seniors as Anthony Rubino, Tyler Nicol, and Michael Bafia will graduate this Spring.
Men's Golf Competes at Heritage Hill
The Crimson Wave men’s golf team competed at the Heritage Hill Collegiate Tournament this weekend in Shepherdsville, KY. The Crimson Wave finished 8th overall as a team.
Anthony Rubino led the Crimson Wave with a 2nd place overall finish. Rubino shot a 76 on day one and 70 on day two. Tyler Nicol took a 26th place finish carding a 73 and 83 for his two days on the course.
Anthony Spalla posted an 83 each day of the two day tournament taking 40th overall. Brian Contreras finished once place back with an 86 and 82. Michael Bafia was 45th with an 84 and 93 to round out the Crimson Wave.
The men will be back in action on April 3rd when they compete at the Shootout at Stonehedge in Augusta, MI.
