The Crimson Wave took set one 25-23. The Crimson Wave ended set one with 12 kills. The Crimson Wave defense struggled in sets two and three allowing 30 kills by TIU between the two sets with the Trojans taking each set 25-17.
The Crimson Wave came out in set four with a renewed intensity hitting .444 on the set and dominating the Trojans 25-14. Set five was all CCSJ as the men hit .389 with seven kills and no errors to take the match 15-14.
Timothy Williams led CCSJ with 18 kills with teammate Dominick Terry putting away 16 kills. Clayton Cox had a season high 39 assists last night.
The Crimson Wave will compete at Robert Morris Univ. this weekend.
The Crimson Wave fell in their first match of the day to Loras College 3-0. In the men’s second match of the day they defeated Trinity International University for their first win of the season and first GLC win for the program.
The men took set one 25-23 in a thriller. CCSJ then defeated TIU in set two leading the set most of the way, 25-22. In set three the Crimson Wave started out strong and never looked back taking the match 25-20 for their first win.
Dominick Terry led the way with 24 kills. Ruben Maciel ended the day with 26 assists while the team recorded 23 digs.
The Crimson Wave will host Cardinal Stritch University on Tuesday night at 7:00 pm.
