Men Fall in Season Opener to Lindenwood
The Crimson Wave men’s volleyball fell in their season opener today to Lindenwood University-Belleville 3-1 (17-25, 13-25, 25-23, 10-25).
The Crimson Wave fell in set 1 after a tough fought battle. Belleville kept the momentum through set two as they went ahead 2-1 in the match.
CCSJ came out strong after the mid match break taking set three 25-23 for the teams first set win of the season. The momentum would be short lived, as CCSJ would lose the fourth set giving the match to Lindenwood.
Dominick Terry posted 9 kills for the men with Tim Williams added 6. Ruben Maciel ended the match with 20 assists.
The Crimson Wave will be back in action on Tuesday when they travel to Robert Morris University for their first Great Lakes Conference match of the season at 7:00 pm.
Crimson Wave Men's Volleyball - A New Beginning
The Crimson Wave Athletic Department will reintroduce men’s volleyball for the 2014-2015 athletic year. The Crimson Wave last competed in men’s volleyball during the 2007 season when it competed in the MAMVIC conference.
The Crimson Wave will again be led by Andy Marks. Marks, is also an Assistant Athletic Director at the University. Marks formerly led the Crimson Wave men’s program for two seasons after spending the first three seasons of the programs history as a player. A 2005 graduate of Calumet College of St. Joseph, Marks also led the Crimson Wave women’s volleyball program for six seasons.
