2/28/08)Men Defeated By Judson to End Season

The Crimson Wave men's basketball team ended their season tonight after being defeated by Judson University in the CCAC Semi-Final Tournament game 83-74. The Wave had four men in double figures tonight Marcellus Phelps with 15 points, Tom Radtke with 14 points, Zeb Hall and Wilfredo Escobar each with 12 points. The Wave's final overall record is 18-13.

(2/26/08)Men Defeat Trinity International to Advance to 2nd Round

The Crimson Wave men's basketball team defeated Trinity International University tonight to advance to the second round of the CCAC Conference Tournament. After trailing by 19 with 12:30 left in the second half the Wave came back to defeate the Trojans 78-75. The Wave were led by George Kelly's 23 points and 5 rebounds. Along with four other Wave players in double digits Marcellus Phelps 17 points, Andy Anderson, Tom Radtke, Wilfredo Escobar all with 10 points each. The Wave will take on Judson University Thursday February 28th at 7:00 pm at Judson University in Elgin, IL.

(2/25/08) Basketball Receives All-Conference Honors

Senior Tom Radtke and freshman Wilfredo Escoabar received CCAC First Team All-Conference honors, with Escobar also receiving the Freshman Player of the Year award for Calumet College of St. Joseph. George Kelly and Andy Anderson received CCAC All-Conference Honorable Mention.

Tom Radtke a cornerstone for the men’s basketball program led the team in scoring at 17.5 PPG, shooting 65.3% from the field which ranks 2nd in the NAIA Division 2. Radtke who this season grabbed his 1,000th rebound led the Wave at 9.9 RPG. Freshman of the Year, the first in Crimson Wave men’s basketball history, Wilfredo Escobar averaged 13.1 PPG, 3.15 APG and 1.9 SPG. Escobar had his best night against Purdue Calumet when he scored 25 points going 10-11 from the free throw line.

George Kelly averaged 8.6 ppg while shooting 37.3% from the three point line. Kelly’s season highlight came against Davenport University when he hit the game winning shot to make the final score 68-67. Freshman Andy Anderson averaged 7.8 ppg while grabbing 4.8 rpg. scoring a game high 20 points against Cardinal Stritch University on the road.

Women’s basketball player Katrina Pradziad was named CCAC First Team All-Conference. Pradziad averaged 12.0 ppg and 6.5 rpg through the conference season. Pradziad had her best performance against Andrews University when she recorded a career high 23 points and 15 rebounds.

(2/25/08) Women's Basktball Ends Season

The Crimson Wave women's basketball team was defeated tonight in the opening round of the CCAC Tournament by Judson University 99-44. Katrina Pradziad had 23 points for the Wave. The women end their season 3-27 overall and 0-10 in conference.

(2/24/08) Baseball Sweeps Berea for 3-0 Start

The Crimson Wave men's baseball team finished a three game sweep over Berea College with two wins in today's double header 5-2 and 9-3. This is the first time a Crimson Wave baseball team has opened a season 3-0 along with sweeping their opponent.

In game one Brett Summers had 6 strike outs for the Wave. Dan Rudenga went 2-4 with 2 RBI's.

Game two brought a win for pitcher Ryan Bobos with three strike outs. Sean Fagan was 2-3 with 2 RBI's.

(2/23/08) Women Defeated at Trinity Christian

The Crimson Wave women’s basketball team was defeated by Trinity Christian College today 82-47. The Wave were led by Lecreia Hudson's 11 points and four rebounds. The women’s final record is 3-25 overall and 0-10 in conference. They will play the opening round of the CCAC tournament Monday February 25th at Judson University.

(2/23/08) Men Defeated by Trolls

The Crimson Wave men’s basketball team was defeated today by Trinity Christian College 63-54. The men were led by Tom Radtke’s 20 points and 7 rebounds. The men’s final record is 17-12 overall and 7-5 in conference. The men will host the opening round of the CCAC conference tournament Tuesday February 26th at 7:00 pm against Trinity International University.

(2/22/08) Radtke Continues Dominance, Nets Fourth POW Award

Calumet College of St. Joseph's Tom Radtke, the nation's leader in field goal percentage and No. 10 rebounder at the NAIA Division II level, continued his onslaught in Week No. 16, being named Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference Men's Basketball Division II Player of the Week for the fourth time this season.

Radtke (Chesterton, Ind.) averaged 30.5 points and 9.5 rebounds, while shooting a blistering .806 from the field in two league games to net the honor for the week ending February 17.

A 6-10 senior center, Radtke hit 12-of-15 shots from the field and 5-of-6 from the free throw line in registering 29 points in a 95-79 victory over Purdue University Calumet (Ind.) on February 13. He also came away with seven rebounds in the contest.

Radtke left everything on the floor three nights later (Feb. 16), but the Crimson Wave (17-11, 6-4) still came up one point short dropping a heartbreaking 92-91 decision in a crucial conference matchup with co-leader Judson University (16-8, 9-2).

Radtke hit for 32 points that night, while hauling in 12 rebounds for his 14th double-double of the season. He again missed only three shots from the field (13-of-16), while converting 6-of-8 free throws.

For the season, Radtke is shooting .656 from the field and averaging 9.8 rebounds per game.

The Crimson Wave women's basketball team was defeated tonight by Moody Bible Institute 53-49. The women were led by Lecreia Hudson's 23 points and 4 rebounds. The ladies record is now 3-25. The Wave's next game will be Saturday February 23rd at Trinity Christian College.

(2/16/08)Radtke, Men Fall Short at Judson

The Crimson Wave men’s basketball team fell short tonight to Judson University 92-91. The Wave were trailing by only six at half-time. In the second half Judson led by 18 with six minutes remaining. In the last six minutes the Crimson Wave went on a 31-14 run. Tom Radtke led the Wave with 32 points and 12 rebounds. The men’s record is now 17-11 overall and 7-4 in conference. The men will play their last regular season game next Saturday February 23 at Trinity Christian College.

The Crimson Wave women’s basketball team was defeated by conference opponent Judson University tonight 80-50. The Wave were led by Lecreia Hudson’s 24 points and five rebounds. Candice Bishop also had 15 points and 6 rebounds. The ladies record is now 3-24 and 0-9 in conference. Their next game will be February 19th at home against Moody Bible Institute.

(2/13/08)Men's Basketball Defeats Purdue Calumet

The Crimson Wave men's basketball team defeated Purdue University Calumet tonight 95-79. This was the last home game for Seniors Tom Radtke, Kyle Burkholder and Zeb Hall. The Wave were led by Senior Tom Radtke's 29 points and 7 rebounds. Wilfredo Escobar also threw in 25 for the men. Zeb Hall and Jon Hanselman each put 10 points a piece. The Waves record improves to 17-10 overall and 7-3 in the CCAC. The men's next game will be Saturday February 16th at Judson University for a conference match up.

(2/13/08)Women's Basketball Defeated By Purdue Cal

The Crimson Wave women's basketball team was defeated tonight by Purdue University Calumet 76-61. The Wave were led by Katrina Pradziad and Lecreia Hudson both scoring 17 a piece. Pradziad also added 8 boards for the Wave! The ladies record is now 3-23 overall and 0-8 in conference. Their next game will be Saturday February 16th at Judson University.

(2/11/08)Anderson Recieves First POW Honors

Freshman forward Andrew Anderson (Merrillville, Ind.) got Calumet College of St. Joseph (Ind.) right back into the thick of the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference Division II race with performances worthy of CCAC Men's Basketball Division II Player of the Week accolades for the week ending February 10.

Anderson averaged 15.5 points, 5.5 rebounds, 3.5 steals and 3.0 assists, while also shooting .786 from the field (11-of-14) and .778 from the foul line (7-of-9) in the Crimson Wave's two league victories.

The two conference wins moved Calumet St. Joseph (16-10, 6-3) to within one game of CCAC frontrunners Judson University (14-8, 7-2) and Trinity Christian College (15-10, 7-2) with three league games remaining.

Anderson's all-around play in a 76-60 victory over Purdue University North Central (Ind.) on February 6 netted him 11 points, six rebounds, five steals and four assists.

Three nights later (Feb. 9) in a key matchup with Cardinal Stritch University (Wis.), Anderson could not be stopped hitting all eight of his field goal attempts and all three of his free throws in a 93-84 win. Anderson finished with a collegiate-high 20 points that night to go along with five rebounds and both two assists and two steals.

(2/9/08)Rainbolt Qualifies for Nationals

Crimson Wave men's track runner Mike Rainbolt qualified in the 800 meter run today at the Wabash Invitational held at Wabash College. Rainbolt ran a 1:56.5 beating the qualifing time by .5 seconds. The national meet will be held in Johnson City, Tennesee March 6-8th at East Tennesee University. Raymond Green also finished second in the 400 meter run.

(2/9/08)Double Header VS Wolves

The Crimson Wave men and women's basketball teams traveled to Cardinal Stritch University today for a conference double header.

In the women's game the Wave was defeated 86-30. Candace Bishop had nine points while Penny Bensinger pulled down eight boards. The ladies are now 3-22 overall and 0-7 in conference.

The men's game brought the Wave their fourth straight win defeating the Wolves 93-84. The Wave were led by George Kelly's 22 points. Andy Anderson helped the effort with 20 points going 8-8 from the field. The men are now 16-10 overall and 6-3 in conference.

The men and women will play Purdue University Calumet in a conference double header Wednesday February 13th at the Hammond Civic Center with the women tipping off at 5:30 and the men at 7:30.

The Crimson Wave men's basketball team defeated Purdue University North Central tonight 76-60. Tom Radtke led the Wave with 20 points and 12 rebounds. Wilfredo Escobar added 18 points for the men. The Wave's record is now 15-10 overall and 5-3 in conference. Their next game will be Saturday February 9th at Cardinal Stritch University starting at 4:00 pm.

The Crimson Wave men's basketball team defeated Trinity International University today 88-68. The men had four players in double figures: Marcellus Phelps 12 points, Waybon McConnell 14 points, Wilfredo Escobar and Tom Radtke 19 points. Radtke also grabbed 9 boards. The men's record is now 14-10 overall and 4-3 in conference.
