Wooden Bat Classic at the U.S. Steel Yard

9/30/08 - The Crimson Wave Baseball team will host its 3rd annual Fall Wooden Bat Classic on October 4th and 5th. The Classic will be held at the U.S. Steel Yard in Gary, IN with the gates opening at 10:00 am each day. The first game on Saturday, 12:00 pm, will be Robert Morris College taking on Prairie State College, with the 4:00 pm game having the host Crimson Wave against Goshen College. Cross Country at Sean Earl Invitational

9/27/08 - Saturday, September 27th proved to be a "break out" day for the C.C.S.J. men's cross country team. The Crimson Wave traveled to Montrose Harbor for the 36th Annual Sean Earl Invitational, hosted by Loyola University. " I was very pleased with the way we ran today," stated head cross country coach Mike Liss. " We had a few break out performances. We executed our race plans and ran with purpose and passion."

Once again, Richard Gutierrez led Calumet to a season best time of 28:08. He was followed by freshman Robbie Loop in a career best time of 28:20. " I am really excited about Loop's race!" said Liss. " Robbie and I set a plan of action  earlier in the week. We were able to target a few areas of weakness in his previous races. Today we focused on eradicating those areas of concern. Loop ran his race plan to a "T", it was very exciting to watch him make a huge breakthrough!"

Hobart High School alumni, Brian Bowman had a season best of 30:00 and East Chicago Central grad, Enrique Catalin, improved his time to 36:19. Thrurman Gast continued his steady improvement turning in a 43:00 performance.

"Overall I am very pleased with our outing. We finished 30th out of a field of 34." A lot of these teams we faced today are national powerhouse at NCAA division I,II and III levels as well as NAIA." noted Liss.

The men travel to Kenosha, Wisconsin to compete at the Lucien Rosa Invitational on Saturday, October,11.

Women's Soccer Defeated at Home

9/22/08 - The Crimson Wave women's soccer team was defeated today by Ashford University 7-1. The Wave's only goal was scored in the 83rd minute by freshmen Amanda Churrilla on a free kick that sailed just over the goal keepers head. Ashley Berumen had 8 saves for the ladies. The women are now 0-9. Their next game will be Wednesday September 24 at home against conference opponent Robert Morris College starting at 4:00 pm.

Men Fall Short in Conference Match Up

9/20/08 - The Crimson Wave men's soccer team was defeated today by conference opponent Robert Morris College 1-0.  The Wave's Pete Saims (Hobart HS) had four saves.  The men's record is now 1-7 overall and 0-1 in conference.  The men will take on Ashford University Monday September 22 at home starting at 4:00 pm.

Men Finish 6th at Robert Morris Classic

9/20/08 - The Crimson Wave men's golf team finished 6th at the Robert Morris Fall Classic today. The men finished with a total two day score of 701. Anthony Johnson (Kankakee Valley HS) led the men with at 162 overall, 83 in the first round and 79 in the second. Ryan Alberson (Crown Point HS) finished right on his heels with a 166, first round 82 and second round 84. The men's next event will be on September 3 at St. Joseph's College starting at 1:00 pm.

Men's Cross Country Compete at National Catholic Invitational

9/19/08 - The Crimson Wave Men's cross country team traveled to South Bend, Indiana to compete at the National Catholic Schools Invitational, hosted by Notre Dame University. Richard Guttierez led the Wave to his best time of the season of 28:53. Sophomore Brian Bowman (30:23) and Freshman Robbie Loop (30:32) worked together to tackle the 8,000 meter course. Enrique Catalin ran well for C.C.S.J. finishing in 36:32. Freshman Thurman Gast closed the Wave's scoring in 42:59.

Campbell Finishes 38th at Trine

9/19/08 - Crimson Wave women's golfer Kari Campbell (Portage HS) competed at the Trine University Invitational today. Cambell finsished 38th overall with a score of 91. The women's next event will be on September 27 at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point.

Men Defeated at Spring Arbor

9/16/08 - The Crimson Wave men's soccer team was defeated tonight at Spring Arbor University 3-1. The men's only goal game in the 89th minute of play on a corner kick from Santiago Skinfield (Columbus East HS) to Brian Bernal (Barrington HS) for the goal. The Wave's Pete Saims (Hobart HS) had 7 saves. The men's record is now 1-6. Their next match up will be on Saturday September 20th against conference opponent Robert Morris College at 2:00 pm. The game will be played at Campagna Academy.

Women's Soccer Defeated By Tigers

9/16/08 - The Crimson Wave women's soccer team was defeated by conference opponent Olivet Nazarene tonight 10-0. The Wave's Ashley Berumen (T.F. North HS) had 11 saves. The ladies record is 0-7. Their next game will be at home on Thursday September 18th in a 4:00 pm match up with Goshen College.

Men's Golf a St. Francis Fall Classic

9/16/08 - The Crimson Wave men's golf team competed at the University of St. Francis Fall Classic today.  The men scored a team best 322.  Ryan Alberson (Crown Point HS) led the way with a 78 while Gary Ison (Kankakee Valley HS) was right on his heels scoring a 79.  Anthony Johnson (Kankakee Valley HS) and Allen DuPey (Clark HS) each scored a 82 for the Wave. 

Soccer, Ashford Game Rescheduled

9/15/08 - The men and women's soccer game against Ashford University has been rescheduled for Monday September 22, 2008 at Campagna Academy. The women's game will kickoff at 2:00 pm and the men's game at 4:00 pm

9/13/08 - The men and women's soccer games against Ashford University scheduled for today has been postponed until a later date due to wheather conditions. Please check back for the time and date of the rescheduled game.

Men Fall Short at Viterbo

9/3/08 - The Crimson Wave men's soccer team was defeated today at Viterbo University 3-2 in overtime. Josh Sandoval (Hammond HS)scored the Wave's first goal in the 6th minute of play. The 28th minute brought the men's second goal by Danny Torres (East Chicago HS)being assisted by Ryan Fentress (Griffith HS). Matt Golarz (Portage HS)had six saves for the Wave in goal. The men's record is now 1-3. The Wave will travel to Miami Gardens, Fl to take on St. Thomas University Saturday September 6th at 1:00 pm EST.
