Crimson Wave men’s basketball has announced the signing of Bernateau Jean-Michel as a member of the 2013-2014 recruiting class. The 6-1 guard from Hammond, IN comes to Calumet College of Saint Joseph after a great career at George Rogers Clark High School.

Jean-Michel was a four year letter winner for Coach Joe Delgado at Clark High School and averaged 15.1 points, 5 steals, and 5 rebounds per game in his senior season. He was named team MVP and was named first team All-Lake Athletic Conference. The NW Times selected him as an All-Area performer and Hoosier Basketball Magazine selected him as all-state honorable mention. Bernateau participated in the Indiana vs. Ohio All-Star Game as well as the Northwest Senior Classic Game this spring.

“Bernateau is a great addition to our basketball program because of how versatile he is on the court,” said Crimson Wave head coach Ryan Sexson. “He has a college ready body and has a knack for being around the basketball on the defensive end. He is not afraid of contact and is outstanding at getting to the basket. Bernateua has a chance to play a number of roles for us this year and has the work ethic to become a really nice player at our level.”
Bernateau plans to pursue a degree in Business Management while attending CCSJ.
