Crimson Wave head track and field coach Kevin Paterson has announced the signing of Hobart High School track and field star Matt Stewart to a national letter of intent to continue his athletic and academic career at Calumet College of St Joseph.

Matt Comes to the Crimson Wave as the most accomplished high jumper in Hobart High School history. Matt owns both the indoor school record (6’6 ¼) and the outdoor record (6’8) and is also a multiple time conference champ and state qualifier in the high jump.

Coach Paterson on Matt “Not only is Matt a fantastic athlete he is also a great kid from a wonderful family that I have gotten the chance to know over the past few years. Matt will step onto campus in the fall as one of the top jumpers in the NAIA.  I really feel that he could be this programs first All-American. Matt can truly do anything for a track athlete,  not only is he one of the state’s best jumpers he is also a very talented sprinter on the Brickies 4x4. Matt has a great future ahead of him and I couldn’t be more excited to have him do big things in a crimson wave uniform.”
