Crimson Wave head men’s soccer coach Justin Olson has announced the signing of Chesterton High School soccer standout Nick Barango to a national letter of intent to continue his athletic and academic careers at Calumet College of St. Joseph. While at Chesterton, Nick was a Scholar Athlete and won the Sportsmanship Award in 2012.

Nick will join a very athletic group of strikers for the Crimson Wave. His speed and team first attitude will be a great asset to the attacking group. His work ethic on the field is one of the best around.

Nick will major in Creative Writing while attending CCSJ.

“Nick comes from a traditionally strong Chesterton High School soccer program. Nick's coaches gave me a great recommendation on him as a player and as a teammate. Nick has great quickness and will do anything to score. One thing I really liked about watching Nick play is that he will sacrifice his body to score a goal. He is one of those special players that will do anything it takes to score. That is what we look for at the striker position. Nick will be coming into a great young core of players. We look forward to Nick joining our team and making our attack better.” Said head coach Justin Olson.
