The Crimson Wave men's soccer team is proud to announce the signing of Clovell Dinnall to the 2014-2015 recruiting class. Clovell is a 6'0 midfielder that will be joining the Crimson Wave after a successful amateur career in Jamaica. "I am from the Parish of Clarendon where as a youngster; I was always fascinated by soccer which I then started playing from a tender age of 8 years old. My dad wanted me to play cricket which I once played but having so much love for soccer, I stopped playing cricket. I live in a community called Mineral Heights where I was motivated by my friends daily from that age that I should take the game of soccer seriously. I was first invited by my primary school coach Donavan Brown to attend training which he worked with me for five years, which lead me to more success. I was then invited by both Patrick Jackie Walters and Warren Simpson to attend one of the top high schools in Clarendon," said Clovell.
Clovell was a team captain while also earning a Dacosta Cup Championship, Ben Francis Championship, and was a National Youth U20 Invitee. "My goals for next season are to help our team with our conference to earn the opportunity to compete in the National Tournament. I also want to maintain a 3.0gpa throughout the year," said Clovell.
"Clovell will be a special player for us. He brings a whole new style of athleticism to our midfield. His speed and power will bode well for us as we look to take the next step with our program. I am very excited to have Clovell on our team and look forward to helping him develop during his tenure here," Said Coach Olson.
While attending CCSJ, Clovell will major in Sports and Exercise Science.
