Step 1 – Plan ahead! Begin your internship search no later than one semester in advance.

Step 4 – Assess your interests.
Step 5 – Research potential options.
Step 6 – Develop or update your resume. Our resume help section offers guidelines and tips.
Step 7 – Register for course credit, if applicable.
Step 8 – Follow-through!
Step 9 – Begin your internship.
An additional resource that may help you consider the type of internship you’d like is our “What can I do with this major?” page. Review careers that correspond with your major, and see recommendations to help get started in those areas.
During your internship
Below is some additional information you might need, depending on your placement and supervisor:
Maintain contact with Internship Coordinator – Your Internship Coordinator will check in with you periodically during your internship to make sure things are going well. If you have any questions or concerns about your placement site, please contact us right away.
Maintain contact with your professor – Simply completing the internship will not guarantee course credit. You will likely have assignments in addition to completing your hours, such as written assignments or meetings.
Completing your internship
In order to complete your internship, we will need a completed evaluation form from your supervisor. The Internship Coordinator will contact your supervisor to coordinate its completion. You will be asked to review and sign the completed evaluation. In addition, we ask that you complete a satisfaction survey to get your opinion about the placement process.
