Résumé Help
What not to do on a résumé:
- Do not forget to put on a phone number.
- Do not use personal pronouns.
- Do not misspell anything.
- Do not put "resume" or "vitae" on the top.
- Do not include extraneous information. For instance, if you are a
college graduate, you don't need to include your high school information.
- Do not lie; do not say anything you can't prove.
- Do not send a photograph.
- Do not include personal information such as marital status, height,
weight or age.
- Do not state reasons for leaving other jobs.
- Do not include your social security number.
- Do not send reference letters unless they are requested.
- Do not write "Dear Sir" on your cover letter.
- Do not prepare your resume on a typewriter.
- Do not use wild colored resume paper, muted colors are best.
- Do not write a two-page resume.
- Do not mail a resume without a cover letter.
