Note: All wiring requests must be submitted on a Computer Services
work order to Computer Services and not Facilities.
Student assistance:
Contact computer lab assistants who work in the Open Computer Lab
on fourth floor. Lab Assistants should be able to answer all basic
computer questions including Blackboard related questions.
Lab Assistants have mastered the basic competencies learned in
CIS 115 and can assist with the following topics:
- basic manipulation of Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, and PowerPoint;
- creation of web email accounts;
- saving of files to a floppy, flash drive or burning their work
to a CD;
- manipulating Blackboard or managing personal accounts on Blackboard;
- using Adobe Acrobat;
- scanning documents; and
- printing documents in the Lab.
Note: Computer Lab Assistants cannot assist students with specialized
software packages utilized by various programs. For assistance with
course work they will be referred to their professor. For assistance
with resources for their course assignments they will be referred
to the Library. The Center for Academic Excellence is available
for those students who need in-depth assistance and individual tutoring.
