Capital Campaign

Since 1976, the College has lived within the walls of a single building, donated in 1973 by the Amoco Oil Company. Continued expansion in enrollment and programs, coupled with the decision to pursue a policy of growth in all facets of operations, created a need for more space. With this in mind, the Board of Trustees of Calumet College of St. Joseph adopted a $7 million capital campaign with gifts and pledges to be received over a five year period. These funds have been
used for:

Renovation of the 2400 New York Avenue site to include an up-to-date, state of the art learning technology center, and upgraded science laboratories incorporating current technology and instruments to provide our students with the relevant tools and skills necessary for the 21st century.

Construction of a Student/Community Activity Center. This facility
not only benefits our nearly 200 student athletes, but enriches the community by enabling the College to offer a broad range of community activities.

The Horseshoe Casino and the Harrah’s Foundation pledged $300,000 to the capital campaign. The College also received a $250,000 gift from an anonymous alumae in honor of her father. Thanks to our many generous donors, we passed our goal in order to make these inprovements.
