“Changing
Lives, Growing the Vision” $7 Million Capital Campaign
Since 1976, the College has lived within the walls of a single
building, donated in 1973 by the Amoco Oil Company. Continued expansion
in enrollment and programs, coupled with the decision to pursue
a policy of growth in all facets of operations, has created a need
for more space. With this in mind, the Board of Trustees of Calumet
College of St. Joseph has adopted a $7 million capital campaign
with gifts and pledges to be received over a five year period. The
funds will be used for:
Renovation of the 2400 New York Avenue site
to include an up-to-date, state of the art learning technology center,
and upgraded science laboratories incorporating current technology
and instruments to provide our students with the relevant tools
and skills necessary for the 21st century.
Construction of a Student/Community Activity Center.
This facility will benefit not only our nearly 200 student athletes,
but will enrich the community by enabling the College to offer a
broad range of community activities.
Endowment resources are necessary to continue
growth and ensure our ability to serve as an educational innovator
in the region. This increased endowment will enhance our ability
to grant scholarships and maintain proposed facilities. As part
of this campaign, we have set a goal of $1 million as endowment
funds to assist financial stability.
The Horseshoe Casino and the Harrah’s Foundation have pledged
$300,000 to the capital campaign. The College also received a $250,000
gift from an anonymous alumae in honor of her father.
