The capital campaign recently
also received a gift of $250,000 from an alumnae who wished to remain
anonymous. She presented the gift in honor of her father.
The former East Chicago campus was the beneficiary
of several major gifts including the library from Eugene R. Specker,
the Lewin Student Center from Irving and Kenneth Lewin, the auditorium-hall
from the Robert E. Walsh family, and a seven-classroom unit from
the Lewis Foundation.
The current campus in the Whiting-Robertsdale area
is the result of a donation from the Amoco Corporation. Major contributors
to the college in recent years have included the Lilly Endowment
and the William Randolph Hearst Foundation, Inland-Ryerson Foundation,
the Anderson Foundation, the Catholic Diocese of Gary, and the Missionaries
of the Precious Blood.
Local companies, families and individuals have generously
supported the college’s major fund drives which have included
the New Horizons Program of 1971, the Campaign for Calumet College
in 1985, the capital campaign for endowment resources was completed
in 2001 and the current “Changing Lives, Growing the Vision”
capital campaign. The annual “Three Wise Men” campaign
is held during the Christmas season to raise funds for the library.
Supporting Calumet College of St. Joseph helps to
enhance the programs and services offered to our students. Support
can include pledges of cash, donations of new or used equipment,
memorials and bequests. The Development Office can also provide
special arrangements to meet individual needs. |
