CCSJ SCHOLARSHIPS AND GRANTS

Calumet College of St. Joseph rewards academic and athletic excellence while addressing the concerns of financially needy students. The College plans on awarding over $1,700,000 in financial assistance during the 2008-2009 academic year, a substantial increase over the previous year. See the scholarships and grants listed below to see if you might qualify for CCSJ assistance. You must have filed the 2008-2009 FAFSA for any award to be applied to your account.

CCSJ Scholarships and Grants Available for 2008-2009 Academic Year

CCSJ Scholarships for First Time Freshman

Presidential Scholarship Minimum 1200 SAT or 27 ACT and 3.5 GPA. Up to $9,000
Trustee Scholarship Minimum 1100 SAT or 24 ACT and 3.25 GPA. Up to $7,000
C.PP.S Scholarship Minimum 1000 SAT or 22 ACT and 3.0 GPA. Up to $5,000
St. Joseph Scholarship Enrolled in a Catholic high school. Based on merit. Up to $5,000
Creative Performance Scholarship For students interested in:Art, Theater or Library Science. Contact the CCSJ Financial Aid Office

 

CCSJ Scholarships for Transfer Students
Types of Award
Eligibility Criteria
Annual Amount
Transfer Scholarship 30 or more transferable college credits. 3.0 GPA. Up to $2,000
Accelerated Program Scholarship 52 or more transferable hours towards accelerated program major. 3.25 GPA. Student must transfer within 12 months of having attended last college. Up to $1,200*
Associate Degree Grant Associate Degree from a regionally accredited two-year college and enrollment at CCSJ with 12 months of attaining degree. Up to $2,000

 

CCSJ Grants for both First-Year, Transfer and Continuing Students

Adult Learner Grant Enroll ay CCSJ and be at least 55 years
old. Demonstrate financial need.
Up to $5,000
Alumni Grant Bachelor degree graduate of CCSJ.
Enroll in CCSJ traditional college program.
Up to $5,000
Athletics Grant Participate in at least one NAIA sport per academic year. Up to $5,000
CLASS-PACE Grant Be admitted as a first-year student in the CCSJ CLASS-PACE Bridge Program. Up to $2,000**
CCSJ Grant Resident of Indiana and do not receive Indiana need based aid. Enroll in a CCSJ traditional college program. Demonstrate financial need. Up to $4,000
Diocesan Grant Full time employee of Diocese of Gary or Archdiocese of Chicago Up to $5,000
Illinois Grant Resident of Illinois. Enroll in a CCSJ traditional college program. Demonstrate financial need. Up to $4,000
GED Grant 250(0) or above on GED test. For first time college students only. Up to $2,000*
Lefko Grant Demonstrate financial need Up to $750
Student Participation Grant Complete requirements as specified while serving as a CCSJ mentor, tutor, club President or member of the drama group. Up to $2,000
Summer Grant Summer Enrollment CCSJ.
Demonstrate financial need.
Up to $1,000
Transition to Teaching Grant: Elementary Ed. Baccalaureate graduate of CCSJ Up to $2,940**
Transition to Teaching Grant: Secondary Ed. Baccalaureate graduate of CCSJ Up to $1,470**
CCSJ Legacy Grant Be the son or daughter of a CCSJ bachelor or Masters degree recipient Up to $3,000
