Chuck Walz, Director of Admissions and Financial Aid

You may have seen Chuck’s profile already on the CCSJ Admissions Meet the Staff site. He has expanded his duties to include both Admissions and Financial Aid. It is Chuck’s goal to ensure that once you are admitted to CCSJ, your journey through the financial aid process is as clear and effective as possible. He supports the notion that college should be affordable for everyone. Ask Chuck in particular about the need and merit based grant and scholarship money available directly from Calumet College of St. Joseph. Chuck is proud to be a resident of Hammond.

Gina Pirtle, Assistant Director

Gina is a graduate of CCSJ with a B.S. in Organization Management and will pursue her MBA from Indiana Wesleyan. She joined CCSJ in 2002 in Business and Finance in Accounts Payable and She came to the Financial Aid Department in 2004 as a Financial Aid Specialist and is now a counselor versed in Indiana State Frank O'Bannon Grants, which include the Higher Education Award, Freedom of Choice, 20th Century Scholarships, Indiana Part-Time Grants and Minority teaching Scholarships. Gina is a Merrilliville resident.

Kelly Spencer-Cline, Counselor

Kelly joined the Financial Aid team in March, 2007. She is committed to working with you on a one-to-one basis in order to navigate you through the complexities of the financial aid process. A lifelong resident of Hammond, Kelly attended nearby Clark High School. Kelly is a 2006 graduate of Saint Joseph’s College with a B.S. in Criminal Justice. She is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Public Affairs at Indiana University Northwest.

Kim Harkleroad , Counselor

Kim is the newest and youngest member of the Financial Aid Staff. She is your main point of contact for questions regarding Federal Work Study and satisfactory academic progress. Kim is currently a student at CCSJ pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Accounting. She came to CCSJ on a basketball and academic scholarship after starring at New Prairie High School in New Carlisle, Indiana.
