How to use ILLiad for interlibrary loan
If the library does not have a resource that you need, Specker Library
may be able to borrow the item through interlibrary loan.
How it works:
- First time users register for an account and agree to the terms of
service.
- You request the items that you want.
- Library staff borrow the items from another library.
- You recieve an email or phone call informing you that your item has
arrived in the library or is available for download.
- A label on the book cover will tell you when the item is due back
at the library.
- You bring items back to the library when you are done with them. (Fines
apply, so on time please!)
Things to Know:
- It takes approximately 10-14 days, so plan ahead!
(sometimes longer for obscure titles)
- You can place, track, and renew requests through the ILLiad
control panel.
- Electronically delivered items are available to you for 30 days, so
don't forget to print or save them!
- It's free to all CCSJ students, staff and faculty.
- Not all requests will be filled as they are contingent on another
library agreeing to lend us what you want. Have a backup plan!
- You can ALWAYS contact the library staff for help.
