ILLiad Guide

If Specker Library does not own a resource that you need, we may be able to borrow the item(s) using interlibrary loan (ILLiad). Articles usually arrive electronically within 3 business days and will be forwarded to you by e-mail.  Books come by mail and arrive approximately 10-14 days after the request.  This service is fully subsidized for all CCSJ student, staff and faculty.

How it works:

First, agree to the terms of service and create an account by clicking on Interlibrary Loan in the left margin of this page or go to: http://ccsj.illiad.oclc.org/illiad/logon.html.   Request the items you want and your online request will be sent to another library.  You will receive an e-mail or phone call when your book has arrived at Specker Library or when your article is ready for downloading (30-day limit).  Keep the articles you requested, but please return the books or other items promptly to Specker Library. The label on the book cover tells you when it is due back at Specker Library; fines apply!  You can place, track and renew items through ILLiad on the “manage account” screen.

Things to Know:

Not all requests can be filled, since other libraries may not be able to find or willing to share certain items.  Have a back-up plan and speak to a Library staff member about finding other research material on you topic.

For articles found within one of our online indexes/databases, just click on “Request through Interlibrary Loan” once you’ve created your account.  As always, contact us at 473-4373 for help, or e-mail us at reference@ccsj.edu or library@ccsj.edu.

Within databases

If you find an article in one of our databases that you need click on "Request Via Interlibrary Loan." This will automatically fill out your interlibrary loan request. All you need to do is sign in!
