CCSJ Opens School of Adult Learning

Calumet College of St. Joseph (CCSJ) announces the opening of its new School of Adult Learning.  This new academic offering was developed in response to President Obama’s challenge to America to better prepare the workforce for tomorrow’s jobs.

The new school will enable students with no or few college credits to graduate with bachelor degrees in as little as 5 ½ years on a part-time basis. This compares to the eight or more years it takes at most other institutions of higher learning. All classes at the School of Adult Learning will be offered on weekday evenings and weekends, as well as during conventional school hours Monday through Friday. Students in the School of Adult Learning will graduate with a degree in Organization Management or the Humanities.

CCSJ has long served adult learners who return to school after an absence of one or more years.  More than 600 adults now enroll in CCSJ’s degree completion and graduate programs each semester.  These students appreciate academic programs, schedules, and support serviced tailored specifically to adults.  The new School of Adult Learning will extend these opportunities to incoming students with little or no prior experience in higher education.

CCSJ has the lowest tuition rate of any private institution of higher learning in Indiana and is committed to making higher education possible for adult students who work and have family responsibilities. It provides financial aid to qualifying students who are unable to finance the full cost of their education. In fact, CCSJ believes that cost should not be a barrier to education.
