Service Trips

The Guatemala initiative has been ongoing since 2003 every spring. Members of CCSJ have been traveling to La Labor in Guatemala to work on service projects for the La Sangri De Cristo Parish, to help strengthen the community. To name a few projects; the establishment of a computer lab & sponsoring a tutoring program to help local students with their studies, and the sewing project where women of the community can strengthen their self-esteem and learn the needed skill of sewing to enhance their lives. Brother Jerry Schwieterman also collects monetary donations as well as school supplies, books in Spanish for the mobile library there, and dental hygiene products.
