The mission of the Calumet College of St. Joseph’s Dean of Students office is to provide leadership, support, and services to promote student health, wellness, and safety.
This mission is guided by student development theory to provide an environment that enables and enhances the learning process, fosters academic success, and nurtures personal development growth.
The Dean of Students:
- Enforces the college’s disciplinary procedures in all non-academic breeches of student conduct as outlined in the “Student Expectations” section of the Student Handbook
- Provides conflict mediation/resolution between students
- Advises and educates students through both formal and informal interventions for issues such as health/wellness, academic progress and success, student conduct, and general well being of the individual student
- Serves as the initial and primary contact for interventions with students
- Protects student rights as the college’s Ombudsman for student issues
- Provides programming and promotes policy on issues of student health, wellness, and safety
