Student Life/Dean of Students
Welcome to the Office of Student Life/Dean of Students
A significant amount of your college life will involve activities outside of the classroom by participating in student clubs, leadership roles, the athletic program, intramurals, civic organizations, attending cultural events, and living in or serving our community. Students also have the option of developing their own campus organizations with the approval of the Director of Student Activities, and Vice President for Student Life/Dean of Students.
It is our goal to assure that you understand the policies and procedures of the Student Life/Dean of Students Office. We encourage responsibility, honesty, integrity, and respect for self and others. The Office of Student Life/Dean of Students is committed to:
Disseminating the regulations and standards of the University and maintaining those standards in a fair, respectful, and equitable manner for students, staff, and parents.
Work collaboratively with students, faculty, and staff to provide a safe environment
Guiding students to a greater sense of personal responsibility, mature and ethical behavior that enhances the quality of the community and Universities environment.
Providing guidance in their non-academic experiences to assist students in making the appropriate choices concerning their behavior.
Encourage student to understand the consequences of decisions, and actions they take in an attempt to help cultivate their development of good citizenry.
The student's acceptance of admission to Calumet College of St. Joseph reflects his/her desire to be a part of the total community, not simply a request for participation in the academic programs of the College. As a result of their co-curricular experiences, we anticipate our students will:
Demonstrate increasing and realistic self-appraisal and understanding
Describe their own cultural values and its impact on a larger community
Treat all with dignity and respect.
Refrain from use of offensive, abusive language.
Respect the property of all in the institution and community.
Conduct ourselves in a manner that assures the safety of others.
Develop capacity to understand and interact effectively with those that differ in belief, behavior, values and background.
Abide by all local state or federal laws while on and off campus or while engaged in college-related activities.
