Your classes will not take place in a big lecture hall and won’t be taught by a teacher’s assistant. CCSJ has a student to faculty ratio of 12:1. Our faculty bring years of working experience into the classroom to share with you. Do you have scheduling conflicts due to work? We have day, evening, and weekend classes available for our working students. Diversity is our mission. We are one of the most diverse institutions in the Midwest, according to U.S. News and World Reports. You get the opportunity of learning in a diverse setting as well as learning about different cultures while at CCSJ. Because private college doesn’t have to be unattainable due to cost. We offer the lowest tuition for any private four-year college in the State of Indiana. Students from other states do not pay out of state tuition. At least 90% of our students receive some form of financial aid.
We are building tradition one sport at a time. CCSJ athletics has received local, regional, national recognition for its athletic programs as well as for our scholar-athletes. We are a member of the NAIA and the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference. We have had the Coach of the Year, Player of the Year, and Freshman of the Year in the CCAC within the last five years for Men’s basketball as well as National Qualifiers in Men’s and Women’s Bowling and Men’s Track and Field. Our student-athletes Ride the Tide of Crimson Wave Pride! The opportunity to intern in your field of study. Our students have been placed in over 200 different locations for internships. Our students even interned at the 2008 Democratic National Convention in Denver, Colorado!

Frequently Asked Questions
ACT and SAT scores are not required for admission to CCSJ. However, in order to qualify for CCSJ academic scholarships for first-year students, these scores are needed. It is also required to have submit the ACT or SAT results if you plan to participate in intercollegiate athletics at CCSJ.
An application fee is not required when applying to CCSJ.
CCSJ does not require an admission deposit to confirm enrollment. However, students who apply and are admitted early in the enrollment cycle for a given term are invited to register early.
The average class size is 12 students.
In many cases, home school credit s and diplomas can be accepted. An Admissions Counselor will review your transcript once your application file is complete.
New student orientation activities normally take place approximately one week before the beginning of classes. You will be notified by mail of your orientation date in early summer.

CCSJ offers 20 men’s and women’s intercollegiate sports. Interested students will need to contact the coach of the sport in which they wish to participate. Student-athletes who have signed an athletics letter of intent are eligible for athletic grants. In order to participate in CCSJ athletics, all student-athletes must be enrolled at the college for a minimum of 12 credit hours per semester.
The CCSJ campus is monitored by security officers and cameras both day and evening. Our security officers have the power to arrest offenders that may threaten members of the College community.
CCSJ does not charge for parking on campus.
Calumet College of St. Joseph is primarily a commuter school. While we do not offer any housing on our campus, there are many apartments within walking distance of the college. Housing options are available through the Northwest Indiana Times, in addition to real estate web sites such as rent.com, apartments.com, and craigslist.com.
