Senior Sister Bich Vu, came to Calumet College of St. Joseph (CCSJ) from Vietnam. She was born in the South Vietnamese village of Thanh Thang. Her parents were farmers, and she is the eldest of five siblings.
While growing up, she dreamed of becoming a nun and an English teacher. She pursued her dream, and in Vietnam she had the opportunity to teach kindergarten, which she really enjoyed. She later came to the U.S. to continue her education and to serve the Incarnation Consecration Mission.
She began her studies at CCSJ as a communications major, but found herself drawn to writing. She is graduating in May 2019 with a Bachelor of Arts in English, Writing, and Professional Communications with a concentration in Creative Writing.
“Even though I know English, it is still difficult,” she explained.
She offered some advice for current and incoming students. “I’m sure when you study you will struggle, and when you do I have found that going to the chapel located at CCSJ helps. Go there to sit and talk to God. Just tell him what struggles you have and see how God can answer for you by just giving silence, and you will see what can happen.”
Sister Bich plans to attend graduate school. Sister Bich has touched many lives during her time at CCSJ, and for that we are thankful. We wish her the best of luck as she continues down her path.
