Everglow comes to the United States for the first time for their EVERGLOW: Everlasting Tour in USA. On Mar 11th, the year old girl group performs at The Vic Theatre in Chicago, IL.

The show kicks off with their debut title track “Bon Bon Chocolat.” The upbeat song pulls fans (Forevers) to their feet to dance along with the six women on stage. During the chorus multiple hands are raised up, mimicking the choreography by touching their thumbs and middle fingers together.

Sihyeon, Onda, E:U, Yiren, Mia and Aisha greet everyone as Everglow before each member takes turns introducing themselves. All of them admit that they are both nervous and excited to perform in Chicago. “We’ve prepared something extraordinary for you tonight” Onda says hinting at what to expect.

Before moving on with the concert, the group requests for those in the audience to sit down in their seats. As fans comply, Everglow explains that it is to insure everyone stays safe so they can enjoy the whole show.

Chairs were set up behind the ladies during their opening segment for the next two songs.

Majority of the time all six remain in their seats while singing “Hush” only switching seats a couple occasions. “Moon” got Forevers screaming with their seductive dance moves with and without the chairs. The mesmerizing performance accompanying the music explained exactly why it was one of the night’s highly anticipated b-side.

The tour organizer, MyMusicTaste, received questions from Chicago fans to ask the group during the Q&A session. Some of the questions were: who Sihyeon would switch bodies with, Yiren’s favorite comeback memory, Aisha’s dream superpower, and Onda’s favorite American food.

Mia gets asked what’s her favorite song to dance to and she instantly answers with sexy. Following her response, “Havana” by Camila Cabello plays over the speakers which gets her to show off her sexy dance skills. Some members cringe or cover their eyes while others join in. Mia then claims she also likes cute dances and tries to prove it with the popular kids song “Baby Shark.” However, while doing cuter moves, the tune changes into a remixed version and Mia wasted no time in going back to sexy mode.

As the leader of Everglow E:U is asked to give a mental ages for each of her group-mates. “I personally think that the members are younger than their actual age” she starts. According to E:U, Onda is 18, Sihyeon is like a 7 year-old boy, Yiren is 13, Mia is 44 (E:U didn’t explain the reason because it’s a secret) and Aisha lucks out with being a 21 year-old. People in the crowd voice their interest in knowing what the leader’s age would be and the other five agree on her being 5-years-old without hesitation. “She’s a 5-year-old boy and that is why E:U and I are roommates” Sihyeon jokes.

The crowd uses their cell phone flashlights to illuminate the venue for “D+1.” Both musicians and fans sway back and forth throughout the slower song. Switching gears from the slower tempo were the songs “No lie” and “Player” that cranked up the bass. The fun yet complex choreography returns as well making everyone want to get up and dance.

Taking a break from their own discography, Everglow splits into two units to cover popular American songs. E:U, Aisha and Sihyeon start off the special stage with singing “Poker Face” by Lady Gaga. Beyonce tracks took over as Mia, Onda and Yiren danced to “Single Ladies” before being joined by the other three members for “Crazy in Love.”

The last pop song belong to Mark Ronson and Bruno Mars with their hit “Uptown Funk.” All six idols get mic stands placed in front of them and when a member wasn’t singing, she’d be dancing along. Near the end, Everglow leaves the stands behind to get closer to the crowd and encourages them to sing with them, which people instantly join.

Everyone attending the concert got a numbered wristband upon entering the venue. The numbers were used to win signed polaroid pictures of the group. Two numbers were picked per member and the ladies asked the ones chosen to stand up and make lots of noise to help identify where they were in the crowd. First to be announced is the ticket level wristband that ranged from VVIP to balcony GA followed by its respected number. Even though those who didn’t win were sad, it didn’t stop them from congratulating and being happy for the fans that won.

Fans instantly jump to their feet when the group asks them to stand up for the next few songs. Forevers can’t hold back their excitement as the tune to “Dun Dun” begins to play. The latest title track gets people yell ‘you’re so done’ at the top of their lungs along with the rest of the song. Without skipping a beat Everglow goes straight into “Salute.” The female empowerment song gives off the same type of energy that gets all the women in the crowd hyped.

After saying their final thoughts of the night is the song “Adios.” Multiple people in the audience are seen doing the choreography or just dancing to the beat. Once the song ends, all six head backstage to prepare for the encore. While waiting, Forevers chant the group’s name letting them know fans are ready for more.

The girls return to the stage wearing their black tour shirts stylized in various ways. Kicking off the encore stage are dance covers of popular k-pop songs. The first two songs were “TT” and “DDU-DU DDU-DU” by the girl groups Twice and Blackpink followed by “Love Shot” and “Idol” by boy groups EXO and BTS. Because they are all well known, the audience sings and dances along to the wide variety of music.

Ending the concert is their song “You Don’t Know Me.” Everglow uses this time to get closer to Forevers and take their phones to take selfies. A few times during the song the group gathers together to perform part of the choreography for the chorus. Once the chorus end all six ladies return to interacting with fans and receiving gifts such as flowers or flags.

Before leaving the stage, the group bows to the crowd and asks if they can take a few pictures with all of them. Everyone willingly agrees to the photos and gives their best poses. After the photographer is pleased with the results Everglow says their last goodbyes and head backstage.

VVIP and VIP ticket holders had extra time with Everglow instead of heading home right away. Both levels get a hi-touch with the group while only VVIP gets a photo with girls. The lower of the two tiers goes first followed by the higher.

Right as fans are about to start hi-touch, a staff member gives them hand sanitizer but not with enough time to properly apply it. Many people needed to quickly rub their hands together to avoid getting the product on the women’s hands. The event only lasted a moment but each idol did their best to make each meeting worth it with either a smile or a thank you.

The photo event took place in a similar fashion. Seven chairs were placed in front of Everglow for fans to sit in while the last three had to kneel on the floor. Each group got two pictures taken and were told that they would be released some time after the tour ends. Following the photos Forevers waved to the group and said their last words to each other.

As VVIPs walk towards the door they are given individual photo cards that have been personally signed by the group.

Exiting the venue brought fans back to the reality that the night has come to a close. Multiple people stay just outside the doors talking to others about what took place minutes ago or take pictures with their friends while the rest head out with smiles on their faces.
