Position Summary:<\/strong><\/p>\nThe Student Success and Retention Director is responsible for assisting first and second-year students in establishing their professional and academic goals by identifying student needs and offering necessary student success services that lead to persistence and on-time graduation. The Director is also responsible for the oversight of the Retention Key Performance Indicator for year one and year two.<\/p>\n
Responsibilities Include:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n- Plan, coordinate, and implement engaging programming that responds to the evolving needs of first and second-year students.<\/li>\n
- Plan, coordinate, and implement New-Student Orientation.<\/li>\n
- Collaborate with Career Services to expose first and second-year students to career opportunities and programming.<\/li>\n
- Act as a liaison between students and Athletics, Student Services, Advising, Financial Aid, and faculty.<\/li>\n
- Measure and monitor the retention Key Performance Indicators (KPI) and identify necessary changes to address retention.<\/li>\n
- Track student enrollment and retention statistics, gathers data, and writes reports regarding program success and impact. Evaluates progress of new student programs to ensure continuous improvement and growth.<\/li>\n
- Collaborate with other academic departments in the Tactical Enrollment and Retention Committee (TERC) by assisting in identifying at-risk students, developing appropriate interventions, reaching out to students, and working closely with them to meet college expectations.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
Minimum Qualifications\/Experience<\/strong><\/p>\n\n- Bachelor\u2019s degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, Education, College Student Personnel or related field<\/li>\n
- 2 years experience in student retention or student services<\/li>\n
- 1 year experience coordinating student support programs<\/li>\n
- Experience with diverse learners; a sensitivity and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds of Calumet College students<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
Preferred Qualifications\/Experience<\/strong><\/p>\n\n- Master\u2019s degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, Education, College Student Personnel or related field preferred<\/li>\n
- Strong communication written and oral; knowledge of Microsoft Professional Suite, ability to develop and sustain working relationships with internal and external constituents.<\/li>\n
- Excellent organizational and communication skills<\/li>\n
- Analytical skills for assessing student success<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
