Adjunct Instructor: Public Speaking

The English & Media Communications Program seeks applicants to fill an available adjunct faculty position to begin in August 2020. The adjunct faculty member is needed to teach undergraduate courses in Public Speaking fall 2021 semester. Opportunities to teach other courses in the English & Media Communications program and the college’s General Education Program may be available in future semesters, depending on qualifications.
To qualify for these assignments, candidates must have a minimum of a Master’s Degree in the content area (English, Literature, Composition and Rhetoric, Communications, et al.). A terminal degree is preferred. Adjunct faculty may teach up to three sections per semester. The ideal candidate will have taught first-year composition courses and have worked well with underprepared and first-generation college students from diverse backgrounds. Experience synchronous and asynchronous online instruction is preferred. Strong written and oral communication skills are required, both as a professional and as someone teaching those skills to others. This position requires a flexible schedule, which allows the successful applicant to participate in campus events.
