Position Summary:

This position is responsible for teaching a variety of developmental English and college-level composition courses.  The course load is four courses in both fall and spring semesters.   The position will likely involve release time related to Writing Center duties.  The position involves office hours as well as departmental and college-wide committee participation and other duties as assigned.  The position will also involve mentoring or overseeing English adjunct faculty and English.  The position requires the faculty member to remain current in best practices in writing and tutoring instruction.

Required Qualifications/Experience:

  • Terminal degree in English Composition, English, or closely related field.

Preferred Qualifications/Experience:

  • Previous college-level teaching experience.
  • Experience teaching a diverse student population.
  • Experience overseeing all aspects of a Writing Center, including training, budgeting, assessment, curriculum development, scheduling, and supervising tutors.
  • Experience in ELL instruction.
  • Expertise in composition pedagogy and developmental education.
