Position Summary:

The Psychology Program at Calumet College of St. Joseph strives to respond to the community needs and be progressive in curriculum development in response to the changing nature of the discipline.  Our diverse university population places us in the unique position to respond to the current American Psychological Association’s (APA) identified need for Black/African American and Hispanic professionals in the field of psychology.

The position requires teaching undergraduate and graduate level courses, field/clinical experiences; mentoring students; and, providing service to the college, profession, and community. We offer a successful candidate an opportunity to grow and develop professionally. As a smaller program we have the opportunity to provide our students with individualized support as they develop their professional knowledge and skills.

Required Qualifications/Experience:

The successful candidate will be required to have a master’s degree or be a doctoral candidate in Psychology or a closely related field. The candidate could be licensed or eligible in a mental health related field, and have excellent oral and written skills.  Candidates should have a commitment to diversity equity and inclusion in the profession. In the current learning environment, experience in using digital learning management systems (such as Blackboard) and distance learning and online classroom platforms (such as Zoom) is important. Candidates should have demonstrated experience in working with diverse cultural groups in urban environments and teaching/supervision at the university level and have experience in addressing the needs of first-generation college students is highly desirable. Applicant must have the ability to supervise practicum / internships.
