Ronald J. Tulley, Ph.D., M.B.A.
Dr. Ronald (Ron) J. Tulley became President of Calumet College of St. Joseph on July 1, 2026, bringing more than three decades of experience in higher education, academic leadership, teaching, and organizational development. Prior to joining CCSJ, he served in numerous leadership roles at the University of Findlay in Ohio, including more than a decade as Dean of the College of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences. Throughout his career, he has championed educational access, innovative academic programming, student success, and the transformative power of higher education.
A first-generation college graduate raised in a working-class family on Chicago’s South Side, Dr. Tulley understands firsthand the opportunities that education can create. He earned his Ph.D. in English from Case Western Reserve University, and he holds four master’s degrees including an MBA. His professional experience extends beyond higher education to corporate training, instructional design, and public service. Dr. Tulley is also actively engaged in national academic leadership and service, including his roles a Peer Reviewer for the Higher Learning Commission, Program Reviewer for Quality Matters, and President-elect of The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi. His peer-reviewed publications include works in both academic journals and poetry.
A lifelong “cradle” Catholic, Dr. Tulley's leadership style emulates the mission and ethos of the Missionaries of the Precious Blood. To him, CCSJ presents an opportunity to serve, guided by humility, fidelity, and a belief in the inherent dignity and potential of every person. His philosophy emphasizes building relationships, fostering a culture of collaboration and possibility, and ensuring that institutions remain faithful to their missions while embracing opportunities for growth and innovation.
Dr. Tulley treasures his family. He and his wife, Christine, are the proud parents of two daughters, Devon and Deana, and they share their home with Chloe, their beloved Bernese Mountain Dog. He considers his presidency at Calumet College of St. Joseph not simply a professional privilege and calling, but an opportunity to serve students, faculty, staff, and the greater community in a place that lives its mission and feels like “home.”
