Institutional Advancement
The Office of Institutional Advancement and Alumni Association strive to ensure the future of Calumet College of St. Joseph by securing private philanthropic gifts. Institutional Advancement supports, encourages, and promotes the College’s academic mission and vision. It supports student learning and success, the delivery of administrative and academic services and programs, and overall maintenance of the college grounds through visibility, outside funding, donor engagement, and strategic community partnerships. The office also coordinates the Annual Trustees’ Scholarship Ball, the College’s signature fundraising event.
Strong alumni relations are critical to the mission and success of Institutional Advancement and the vitality of the College as a whole. The office, in concert with the Alumni Association, is dedicated to engaging alumni who want to give back to their alma mater.

CCSJ Fund
The CCSJ Fund provides flexible, unrestricted dollars to support and enhance the mission of the college. Financial gifts of any size, no matter how big or small, are accepted as yearly donations to provide support for academic departments, student activities, campus maintenance, and more. Your gifts go to work immediately to meet Calumet College of St. Joseph’s most important needs and priorities.
Scholarships
Now more than ever, scholarships are of critical importance. The need and demand for financial aid continues to increase. Every gift, whatever the amount, has the potential to make a difference in a student’s life.
Gift of Light and Learning
The Gift of Light and Learning is a five-year, $2.5 million initiative to replace and restore the building’s 508 deteriorating windows. Alumni across all the graduating years are pledging their support towards this very critical initiative.

Crimson Wave Athletics

To make a credit card gift by phone, call the Office of Institutional Advancement at (219) 473-4318. Please have your credit card number, expiration date, and daytime telephone number ready.
CCSJ Faculty and Staff
One of the fastest, easiest and most convenient ways to make a gift is through payroll deduction. By completing the Payroll Deduction Form, you decide how much to be automatically deducted from each paycheck and where your support may be designated. Payroll deduction will continue until we receive written notice from you to increase, decrease or stop deductions.
Employer Matching Gifts
A matching gift from your employer can increase the value of your gift to Calumet College of St. Joseph. Many employers sponsor matching gift programs and will match any charitable contributions made by their employees.
If your company is eligible, request a matching gift form from your employer, and send it completed and signed with your gift. We will do the rest. The impact of your gift to Calumet College of St. Joseph may be doubled or possibly tripled! Some companies match gifts made by retirees and/or spouses.

Making a gift with appreciated stock is an exceptional way to support Calumet College of St. Joseph. In most instances, you will save on capital gains and receive an income tax deduction for a charitable gift while enabling the College to provide the best educational opportunities for students.
Here is a quick guide to ensure the successful execution of your gift of stocks/securities.
If you physically hold the shares:
The stock certificate and a stock power must be sent to Calumet College of St. Joseph. Your stock power must include a guaranteed signature. For security reasons, this information should be sent in a separate envelope from the stock certificate. Both items should be sent to:

If using this method, please notify the Office of Institutional Advancement of the gift by sending a copy of the transfer instructions by email to ediaz2@ccsj.edu or fax to (219) 473-4259 (ATTN: Inst. Advance). This allows the gift to be identified when it arrives.
Acknowledgement and Gift Processing
When the College receives a gift of securities and matches that gift to the donor, we will send a gift receipt verifying the nature of the gift, the gift valuation date and the gift valuation amount. Neither gains nor losses realized by the institution’s sale of the securities after their receipt, nor brokerage fees or other expenses of the transactions are included in the gift value. If the stock transfer is related to an open pledge, the pledge balance will be reduced by the gift value of the stock gift. Generally, the gift value of a stock transfer will be directed to the donor designated purpose.

By Mail

Tax Credit
Gifts made to Calumet College of St. Joseph are tax-deductible and Indiana residents can qualify for a 50% tax credit (up to $200 – married, filing joint return, or $100 – single filer) by filing the CC-40 form. To take advantage of this opportunity, you must use the Indiana Department of Revenue Schedule CC-40 when filing your state income tax return. After clicking on the link, go to the last section on the page under “Other Individual Forms/Schedules” and choose the first option: CC-40 Indiana College Credit.
